Alive, but “Dead” in SS database [1]

An article in the Seattle Times today reveals the havoc a mistake in the Social Security Administration database can cause an individual. In this case, an 82-year-old man discovered he had been listed as “deceased” when his wife received a letter from their bank saying that monies deposited by the SSA had been deducted from their account because of his “death.” The reporter recounts the long and difficult process the man went through to get the mistake corrected. But there are continuing residual negative consequences.

This occurred BEFORE Elon Musk and his minions got into the SSA; just imagine what they might have done or may yet do with their access….
