Do you donate through ActBlue? Arizona MAGA nutter Andy Biggs wants the FBI to investigate [1]

Those of us who don’t have millions, or even thousands, to spend on candidates sometimes use ActBlue to make our limited donations go further, even though that often means our name ends up on every Democrat’s fundraising list. Since its founding in 2004, ActBlue has passed through about $16 billion to mostly Democratic candidates. Now Arizona Republican Rep. Andy Biggs, who Jan. 6 organizer Ali Alexander identified as one of three congressmen who helped plan the insurrection, is urging FBI Director Kash Patel to investigate ActBlue.

“It appears the platform has been used to skirt the integrity of federal campaign finance laws,” Biggs, R-Ariz., wrote in a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel.

Got that? It’s hunky dory for a drug-addled, Nazi-hugging, apartheid-baked South African to donate $250 million to trump. Likewise, it’s okay for bankers and tech goons to dump millions into trump’s coffers so they can stand with him on the inauguration stage, then lobby for fewer regulations and an even bigger tax break—that’s all well and good post Citizens United.

But just let thousands of people without large bank accounts contribute $50 to support Democrats and Andy fucking Biggs, who should be sitting in a jail cell instead of Congress, thinks these small donations pooled together “skirt the integrity of federal campaign finance laws.” That’s rich.

First, not many campaign finance laws even exist anymore, and those that do certainly don’t have much “integrity.” The couple laws that might contain a smidgen of integrity, righteousness, and purpose, like campaigns not being allowed to collude with political action committees, trump just ignores and nobody says boo.

After more than twenty years of watching this peckerhead in Arizona politics, I can’t tell you a single piece of legislation he’s sponsored that helps anyone. An LDS member, he’s a Christian Nationalist who plays the victim, even though he’s a millionaire whose Republican Party owns every branch of government. The few bills he does introduce are usually mean-spirited assaults on our rights, health, education, and pocketbook. There’s little purpose in Biggs’s ActBlue grandstanding other than to intimate donors, grab a headline, perhaps shut down a successful support system, and build a list of Democratic contributors.
