A Month After Inauguration the Honeymoon is Over [1]

Trump is racing toward his goal as if nothing stands in his way. Maybe Trump thinks the democrat leadership is too disheartened to resist anymore. The democrats gave in when Gore and Bush competed for the White House, to avoid issues over the transition, and losing may have become a habit. My, how things have changed. Now "Good guys finish last" is all too true, and win-lose is the only game in town. Noble but stupid will not win the day against a determined narcissist foe. Our inaction only encourages more republican dirty tricks, and Trump uses them all to "win." The House capitulated on a budget their constituents are likely to hate; only the senate remains, and they are shaky.

Note. Narcissists abuse people and then pose as the victim. Narcissists are strictly transactional; they want to win, and they want you to lose. They are prolific liars. Narcissists may be good actors but they lack empathy, their victims are quickly forgotten, they feel no regret, they rarely say they are sorry or thank you. Malignant narcissists are the worst of the lot.

Clearly Trump is wrong for those who knew him in NY, watched his first term, read Project 2025, saw his first month in office, and/or studied malignant narcissists, who are despicable and predictable. Those people voted democratic.

The Trumpling voters have a far deeper complaint - Trump lied about his plans and his promises, most of them are doomed by their idiocy. They were meant simply to titillate Trump followers and get their vote. Now he is putting his effort into hidden plans, the real plans he didn't dare tell his followers. Trump is about to make the lives of middle-class families much more expensive and difficult.

Expel Immigrants . He will indeed, expel many foreign born, including some who are already good, legal and productive members of our society. I'm not impressed yet. Besides that, we need immigrants. Immigration control needs bi-partisan reason and finesse.

That may be good news for Trumplings, but not the rest of us. And that's it for the "good news."

Tariffs As any economist can tell you, his tariff plan is doomed, especially if enacted abruptly and chaotically, as is the case. Now, he is negotiating, which normally comes first, to avoid signaling uncertainty (weakness) and crashing the stock market, which he did. Other nations will reciprocate with tariffs of their own, and the prices of goods will go up to cover all those tariffs. Trump is distracting us from what he is really doing.

Consumer Prices Prices of consumer goods and groceries will go up. Nothing is being done to lower them.

Trump's policies are all inflationary. He is creating a major financial crisis for the world, and he will leave a mess, as he did in his first term.

On his first day in office, trump voided an agreement with pharmaceutical companies to lower prices on some drugs, which Biden had negotiated. This week the rep House proposed cutting Medicare funding by$880 billion and SNAP by $230 billion, not to reduce our deficit or pay down our debt, but for tax breaks for the 1% wealthiest.

The honeymoon is over.
