Even Ronald Reagan thought tariffs were bad [1]

Jonathan Capehart (glad he's still getting some work at MSNBC) was filling in for Lawrence O'Donnell last night, and he showed this 5 minute clip of Ronald Reagan explaining in easily understood terms, why a policy of tariffs doesn't work for anybody.
Here's the clip on YouTube.
Wish I could embed, but I can't.
It was a radio address on Free and Fair Trade he did on April 25, 1987. We have to thank the Reagan Library for saving this. Really good video quality for something that old. You can see just a sliver of Nancy Reagan off to the right listening.
Reagan was reading from a script, and that's why it's so good.
Could there be any way Donald Trump could listen to Ronald Reagan?
In 1987, Trump hated Reagan, but now he loves him, and has used Reagan's slogan of "peace through strength" a lot.
In 1985, two years earlier, he covered the same topic (YouTube link) in another radio address. It also is excellent, even as you laugh at him having to swat away bugs as he's talking and he doesn't miss a beat.
Finally, a 14 minute address to a crowd in 1986, at the Old Executive Office Building, now known as the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, that covers everything about world trade and working with Congress.
Watch the clips to find out from somebody, who you don't even like, how he was right on one thing.
I wish there was a way to trick Trump into watching them.
