Ageism a la Musk [1]

Just repeating a news item from a 2022 musty interview that needs to be heard:
In a March, 2022 interview (at the Tesla factory in Fremont, CA) with Mathias Döpfner, CEO of Axel Springer*, Business Insider ’s parent company, Elon Musk, 50, talked about his loneliness, how dying will ‘come as a relief,’ and what he sees as the risks of an aging population.
This is what Musk said in the Business Insider interview: “I don’t think we should try to have people live for a really long time. That it would cause asphyxiation of society because the truth is, most people don’t change their mind. They just die. So if they don’t die, we will be stuck with old ideas and society wouldn’t advance. I think we already have quite a serious issue with gerontocracy, where the leaders of so many countries are extremely old…”
* Axel Springer is a German digital and popular periodical publishing house, largest in Europe, with numerous multimedia news brands and, since 2020, majority-owned by US private equity firm KKR)
Nothing I could add would enhance this awful example of super-ageism. Old is only good for Musk when he can do car commercials with his elderly friend at the White House...
