A Tired Red State Dem - OK - You Want A Shut Down = YOU Guys Own the Messaging [1]

WE NEED REPUBLICANS/MAGA-LITE TO VOTE WITH US to over come the one issue Jill Stein voters in the midterms. I wish this weren’t true but red state Dems Richard Ojeda and Paul Schroder just confirmed what I thought.
The Jill Stein, pack my marbles go home people cannot be depended on in the midterms so we MUST pad our numbers.
Clearly, as Paul Schroder (Texas Dem) just said, Chuck Schumer has lost the support and now needs to go ahead and fall on his sword and vote no on the cloture for the CR. Technically Schumer was right, it’s not the best move but that doesn’t matter if he’s lost support of the core supporters. He failed in his marketing and by being wishy-washy not thinking about HIS messaging. Bernie says vote NO and he’s got a finger on the pulse, but I think there will be more back lash then some are prepared for.
My mission as a red state Dem in a red district has been to walk a fine line of planting seeds of doubt in my maga-lite friends. Hoping they would then pass those seeds of doubt along to their friends. Yelling at and demeaning people will never change their minds. I was seeing cracks in the wall. They were getting worried. Just look at the town halls. Trump and Elon were starting to scare them and were front and center in their minds. But know this — these folks DO NOT pay attention to nuance and strategy. They take the route of least resistance and my instincts say this will back fire against Dems.
As a person who has started two successful small businesses I know a thing or two about marketing. It’s not about facts and figures, it’s not about what is best in reality, it’s about what people feel. Drove me nuts for years but it is human nature. I will not be defending or explaining the shut down to my maga-lite friends because it’s just too heavy a lift. I don’t complain much and even though I’m respectful to my maga-lite friends it has caused tension and some isolation for me standing up to their bad world views.
I hope you guys and the Dems have plan A, B and C for what to do AFTER the shut down starts. I admit, I don’t. You guys need to figure out what the next steps are, including getting one issue voters in line PLUS trying to win back Biden to Trump voters and some maga-lite to vote for Dems in the mid-terms.
The CR is going pass, either before OR after the pain of the shut down becomes too great. We don’t have the enough people to stop the republicans in congress from passing it now or later. No, I don’t think republicans will negotiate, they’re fine with people suffering. So It’s all about the messaging.
I hope all of you prove me wrong and that the back lash for a government shut down is directed at the Republicans with average Joe and Jane voters. I will report in from time to time how maga-lite are responding if the shut down happens, if people here are interested.
