Rahm Emmanuel making some moves like a potential Presidential Candidate [1]

Ugh. Well this really shouldnt be a surprise: conservative dems smell real opportunity in the disarray within the party and a wrong read on the constituents. This is a quick diary about the soul of our party.

There is no first hand confirmation of course, but according to the article Rahm is making himself a lot more known out there, including testing out partial stump speeches.

The void being created due to a lack of a standout leader right now scares me, because there will be so much ptsd from these T-rump years. With the country being forced soooo far to the right and having so much dismantling of decades-old established progressive values within our institutions, the dems may likely succeed with an UTTER capitalist, and we would have gained nothing from all this pain and loss. There is already a seeming consensus not to run a woman or a person of color, which is ann understandable reaction(some days I feel like that also) but is self limiting in the grand scheme of things. With Rahm in the Whitehouse,(or someone very similiar), there wouldnt be the idea of “since we are creating from scratch, lets go in a bigger and better direction for the people”.

I know what many of you will be thinking, anyone in the Dem party will be a blessing after this; I dont disagree, but I also mourn the potential opportunity of a true “ new dawn” for this country after the cataclysmic policy fires are put out and rebuilding begins.

I know we are in the fight of our lives right now and dont want to think about 2028, and Rahm hasnt said anything official so he might not be angling for a run, but what is happening to us today is going to greatly affect how and who come bubbling to the top of our party.
