Their claim is that trans people in sports is a losing issue, or that it’s about fairness. That’s a lie.
The claim that trans people in sports is about fairness is intended, and succeeding, at normalizing a certain stereotype. The idea that trans women are actually men. You know the image: a man in a dress with 5 o’clock shadow and women cowering before him. It’s the idea that men are naturally stronger, faster, better. It’s about “common sense.”
But none of that is true. Not the image, not the idea, not the common sense. It’s a lie at every level. THAT is what the “sports issue” means. It’s not about sports at all: it’s about the lies. Getting those lies accepted and getting them into the conversation.

On the actual sports issue, there is real evidence that after HRT, trans people are actually at a DIS-advantage. This makes sense — what good is a big heavy skeleton when you don’t have the muscles to lift it properly anymore? We don’t have enough studies to be definitive, but what we do have points this direction. Here are some studies on the topic, for those who would like hard evidence.
