Exasperated with the Insanity of the Left: Gavin Newsom Podcast Edition [1]

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results - Either Albert Einsten or an anonymous Al-Anon pamphleteer.
Gavin Newsome has begun a political podcast which may or may not be successful in advancing the progressive cause. One thing is for certain, the progressive intelligentsia has concluded it is insidiously evil because it is not following their script. They want him to platform progressives, which while understandable, fails to recognize the need for Democrats go beyond preaching to the choir.
The guests for Newsom's first three episodes have been right wing nutbags. Why? Because Democrats need to let their people hear who these fascists are in their own words. Otherwise they'll never pay attention because they do not visit rightwing sites. At the same time, Democrats need to break into the rightwing media space with someone pointing out how ridiculous these people's arguments are. The right will tune into his podcasts simply because they follow these rightwing nut bags wherever they go.
Is it a different approach? Yes. Is a new approach warranted? Well, duh. Lord knows the current progressive social media strategy has failed miserably. The fascists keep winning.
Instead of withholding judgement the knives are out. In his recent podcast with Bannon, Newsom turned one nut bag, Banning, against another, Musk, demonstrating just how freaking nuts the right is. Yet the progressive intelligentsia still don't understand how powerful social media is in getting these contradictions across, the extent to which the right has cleaned their clock in that information space, and how cleverly Newsom is using his pod cast to regain a foothold.
My gut tells me this is just callow politicization on the part of the progressive intelligentsia. They understand he is well positioned for 2028. He is isn't progressive enough for them, so they want to paint him as a fascist. For the record, he's not progressive enough for my tastes either, but that doesn't make him a fascist
Of course these attacks are classically self-defeating if he does in fact win the primary. I mean how does any self respecting progressive vote for someone who sat down and talked with a fascist, and who has been painted as a fascist as a result? The principled thing to do is to vote for Jill Stein, clearly. Nevermind she sat down at a dinner with Putin, a fascist, in Moscow where no one knows what was discussed.
Thus the progressive intelligentsia will again hand power to the right to the detriment to the progressive clause.
Same as it ever was.
The Orange Bumbler is destroying our country, and these folks are demonize Newsom for trying to do what Democrats have to do if they want to break the rightwing dominance of social media, i.e., engage that part of the information space. Disagreement with his strategy is fine, but calling him a nazi sympathizer?
Ridiculous.
It never ceases to amaze me how some reflexively attack Democrats whenever the topic is one of the myriad of cases of atrocious conduct by someone on the right. Equally, it amazes me how in the middle of a rightwing shitshow, some reflexively latch onto something some Democrat says or does not say as the focus of their ire instead. Then they wonder why the right never a pay a price on election day.
Smh.
