Russian stuff blowing up: Ukraine launches mass drone attack on Moscow area [1]

['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.']

Ukraine launched a massed drone attack across Russia last night, including a big assault on the Moscow region.

Do you suppose it’s a coincidence that the attack came on the day Ukrainians are talking to US officials in Saudi Arabia? Me neither.

Ukraine is also reported to have attacked Kursk, Ryazan, Belgorod, Oryol, Bryansk and Lipetsk.

x Today, "good" drones paid a visit to the Moscow region.

The General Staff confirmed a strike on the Moscow oil refinery, which processes 11 million tons of oil annually and supplies 40-50% of Moscow's diesel and gasoline needs.

x 🔥 A restless night in Russia: Explosions hit Moscow, Kursk, Belgorod, Oryol, Lipetsk, Bryansk, and Ryazan. Drones struck apartments near Moscow, a factory parking lot burned, and train traffic was halted. HIMARS reportedly hit Kursk, and explosions were heard near a military airfield in Ryazan.

Ukraine has been beating Ryazan like the bass in my truck.

Hit it again. Hit it until it looks like Vovchansk.

The Russians claim they heroically shot everything down.

x Russian defense ministry claims that last night was the largest drone attack in Russia in 2025 (at least). They currently claim shooting down 337 drones in ten regions of Russia. Russian media report, that 91 drones were shot down over Moscow region.

x ⚡️ Oil shipments via Druzhba pipeline halted due to Ukrainian drone attack in Russia, Hungary says. Oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline from Russia to Hungary are halted due to a Ukrainian drone attack on a metering station in Russia, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said.

Even as Russia advances through the Kursk region and Ukraine is apparently withdrawing, Russia’s offensive in Donetsk is reported to have culminated.

Unfortunately, Ukraine’s withdrawal from Kursk will likely allow Russia to shift those troops to the Donetsk area.

x 1/ Ukrainian drones are dominating the skies above exhausted Russian soldiers in the Donetsk region, according to a prominent Russian warblogger. As a result, Russia's progress has virtually halted in the region, even as it advances in Kursk. ⬇️

2/ 'Military Informant' highlights the likely culmination of the Russian offensive in eastern Ukraine. He contrasts the situation in the Donbas and Kursk, and warns that an orderly Ukrainian withdrawal in the latter will cause more difficulties in the former: 3/ "Against the background of significant advancement in the Kursk region, a serious slowdown in the offensive tempo of the Russian Armed Forces in Donbas has been observed for a month now. 4/ "And if in the Kursk region one of the factors of success is control over Ukrainian logistics with the help of FPV drone strikes, then near Pokrovsk a similar situation is observed, but in reverse.

No, Elon. It wasn’t Ukraine. It was the Secret Jewish Space Laser.

If it was Ukraine, Elon needs to agree immediately to a ceasefire and give up half of Twitter. And don’t forget to say thank you while wearing a suit.

Some smart Russians.

Here is the full video:

"A powerful explosion convinced the enemy that they should have accepted the offer from the special forces right away. Russian troops began waving a white cloth from the window of the damaged building, signalling their intention to surrender. Shortly afterwards, two groups of four and five enemy soldiers moved towards Ukrainian positions. Some of them were wounded. Ukrainian special forces provided first aid to the Russian troops and began evacuating them."

Ukraine’s newest drone loiters over the battlefield and selects targets with recognition software.

Ukrainian forces have received new UAS SETH loitering munition, a kamikaze drone bearing a strong resemblance to Iran’s Shahed-136 drone. First seen in December 2024 during German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s visit to Ukraine, the drone has now been officially introduced in combat. The Azov 12th Special Operations Brigade recently shared footage of its deployment in the Toretsk sector, confirming that the first batch was provided by the Come Back Alive foundation. The UAS SETH drone stands out due to its advanced automation. Unlike conventional kamikaze drones requiring manual piloting, this system allows operators to simply set a target point, after which the drone autonomously flies to its destination. This feature reduces reliance on operator skill and enhances precision.

Here is MBS (yes, the same guy who had a journalist dismembered) treating Zelenskyy respectfully.

He didn’t ask him why he wasn’t wearing a suit or tell him he has no cards. Trump is even worse than this guy.

x 🇺🇦🇸🇦 Zelensky: With the Crown Prince, we had a detailed discussion on the issue of the release of prisoners and the return of our children, which could become a key step in building trust in diplomatic efforts. A significant part of the discussion was dedicated to the formats of security guarantees.

Off to find some Russian stuff to blow up.

Even if Musk doesn’t threaten to cut Starlink service to Ukraine in the future, I’d prefer to see Ukraine use a European service instead. I just don’t trust that Musk won’t pass along to Russia the locations of those terminals.

x 🇵🇱🇺🇦 Poland will purchase an additional 5,000 Starlink terminals for Ukraine. 🛰️ "The Ukrainian front without communication would collapse, and it is beneficial for Poland to keep it as far away from Warsaw as possible," said Polish Minister of Digitalization.

Chinese media reporting from the Ukrainian side. Interesting.

The country that wasn’t able to take Avdiivka without massive casualties, got its ass kicked in Vovchansk and hasn’t been able to take the town of Pokrovsk is going to partition Poland? 🤣🤣🤣

x Russian propagandist Solovyev said that "any war with Russia ends with a few obvious results - the partition of Poland and the fact that a Russian soldier ends up in the capital of a country that has decided to go to war with Russia."

Reassuring children they won’t be killed during the night and that there aren’t any Russians hiding under their beds.

x In Ukraine, the bedtime talk we have with our children is often about whether the things trying to kill us on that particular night are missiles or Shahed drones. Shaheds are better. What sort of bedtime stories do you tell your children?
