White House: Taxpayers Pay for Cosmos, Fancy Hats for Transgender Mice [1]

“Eight million dollars for making mice transgender. This is real,” Donald Trump told Congress on Tuesday.
This obviously led to a plethora of online mockery, so the White House doubled down, posting an article on whitehouse.gov titled, “Yes, Biden Spent Millions on Transgender Animal Experiments” adding that:
“The Fake News losers at CNN immediately tried to fact check it, but President Trump was right (as usual).” - Whitehouse.gov
No, seriously, that quote was an official statement from The Whitehouse. The one on Pennsylvania Avenue where respected American presidents, including Abraham Lincoln, have lived for the past 200+ years.
No, not the White House nightclub in Detroit or White House Subs in Atlantic City. The actual White House.
So, where did the accusations of taxpayer-funded, million-dollar gender care for mice come from?
The White House recently listed six National Institute of Health (NIH) funded experiments involving mice and gender-related keywords — seemingly inspired by anti-trans House Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.)’s claims about “taxpayer-funded animal cruelty.”
Mice & Hormone Therapy
Mice are the backbone of biomedical research. Their short lifespans and biological similarities to humans make them invaluable for studying all sorts of health issues. That’s good for humans but bad for mice.
But are these mice transgender? No.
Are these “transgender experiments on mice”? Technically, you could say that, but it’s a stretch to define them as that.
Take a look at what these studies are actually about:
One study examines how long-term gender-affirming hormone therapy affects skeletal maturation, building on previous research about bone density .
Another explores how such treatment impacts fertility .
A third looks at how testosterone replacement therapy influences breast cancer risk.
These are important medical questions, not just for trans people but for anyone concerned with bone health, fertility, and cancer risk. Ironically, many of these topics are the same ones often cited by those who argue that trans health care lacks sufficient evidence. You’d think they’d welcome more research—except when the findings don’t fit the sinister narrative.
What’s next, tortoises in hare sports?
Results of These Studies
So, what did these studies actually show?
The skeletal study found that gender-affirming care helps maintain or even improve bone formation.
The fertility study revealed that while trans men produced fewer eggs, the quality remained unaffected.
The cancer study found that trans men on hormone replacement therapy have a lower risk of breast cancer—a useful insight for cisgender patients, too.
If these results had gone the other way, you can bet Fox News and the right-wing media would’ve been all over them. Imagine the Daily Wire headlines if HRT had caused massive mouse casualties.
“God Smites Democrat-Funded Transgender Mice. DOGE Defunds National Institute of Health”
Oh, and one of the studies on the White House’s list? It doesn’t even have anything to do with transgender health care — it’s about how asthma affects men and women differently.
But hey, who needs facts when outrage and hatred is the goal?
