What's wrong with DEI? [1]

I think we got it all wrong with DEI — the main reason being that it’s very short and sweet and provides no information in and of itself. Easy for the bad guys to take and turn into a slur. Which, of course, they did.

I say let’s use EPU instead — not the three letter acronym — the whole thing: E Pluribus Unum. I mean, sure, it’s in some fancy furrin language, but we’ve all heard it before and even seen it somewhere.

Out of Many, One. Nice idea — something to strive for.

Don’t get me wrong: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are excellent ideas — something to strive for — it’s just that the acronym ‘DEI’ was so easy to hijack.

I’d like to see them argue against E Pluribus Unum.
