Rebuilding Foundations of Our Democracy [1]

Everywhere I look there are “we can do it,” messages followed by donation requests from Democrats. That they are “more of the same” plans is o.k., but they offer no indication of any search for root issues. Those who have goals like Trump’s ridicule and demean foundational principles. Even leaders of some churches repudiate them. Public officials too often promise results and then deceive citizens, causing them to mistrust government. The root insights have not been transmitted very successfully. When foundational understandings are lost, the people are thrown on their own resources.
People like Trump will tell you that conscience is a myth taught to control children and gullible adults. The will claim that the Golden Rule for those who know the way of the world is, “Do unto others before they do unto you.” They may say that the social contract imposes limitations on their ability to make money.
People interested in preventing the destruction should research and develop means to reverse the efforts of political vandals.
Is anybody already researching for the shortcomings in the Democratic party that gave Trump his victory?
