I was listening to Joan Baez and Peter Paul and Mary along with some others and wondered where the big protest songs are today. There may be some but not like in the 60’s.
Say what you will but when there were huge protests in the 60’s...There was music and it drew the people there and motivated the people.
Songs like There but for Fortune….Where have all the Flowers gone…..If I had a hammer which I am going to include here now.
Of ever there was a time for protest music and people in the streets it is now.
I heard on TV this morning that some congressman actually said people should take to the streets.
I never thought I would hear that from a legislator. I wish I could remember what morning show I heard that on. He said that we were in big trouble. Of course any of us paying attention and we on here know that but I am not so sure we all know how much. Seems he did. He said, it is going to be up to the public to stop this madness. My jaw dropped. He sounded like all of us.
We all need a metaphoric hammer of justice.
