What are your news sources? I used to be very much a MSNBC person, blogs and teevee. Now limit myself to Rachel and Lawrence; particularly after they got rid of Joy Reid, Katie Phang and Alex Wagner. I’ve been looking for other sources. Meidas Touch is heartening.
Another I’ve found is Jon Stewart Podcast. I very often get irritated with Stewart with his both-siderism and when he scorns Dems because they’re not doing what he wants them to do. But also, I can see his point on occasion. I liked his recent podcast called Jon Stewart: Make Authoritarianism Great w/ Maria Ressa . Ressa is a Nobel Prize winning journalist from the Philippines.
For me, it was comforting, fascinating and horrifying all rolled into one to listen to the interview. If you haven't heard it, here is a LINK. It’s a serious discussion of where we are and what else could be possible/probable. She’s been on other venues too, recently, such as PBS News Hour. What she has to say is scary and yet it helps to understand what we are seeing happening in DC and in the R party and in the D party.
What’s scary is that we don’t seem to know what to do to stop what’s happening. Protesting my Cong. District Rep feels good but it’s not going to help all the people here in Va who have already been laid off or fired from their Govt jobs in DC.
