This story was so weird, I had to bring it to your attention. The Chinese built a duplicate of Osama bin Laden's compound in China. First discovered in 2017.
Here's a side-by-side comparison.
Crazy, huh?
You can see it's a one-to-one scale replica.
By now, you're asking yourself, why did they do this? Now we'll get into some interesting theories.
Newsweek says it's a way for China to train their forces in US tactics. They also say it was built a decade ago.
Chinese State Television screen grab.
The New York Times picked up on it in 2017. Chinese state television showed a video of their commandos taking over the compound.
Chinese version.
It was built in the province of Xinjiang, home of the oppressed Uighurs.
The reason for this sudden popularity of the topic is because the satellite photo is new and it was tweeted by a nuclear weapons analyst who works at a think tank in Virginia.
One of the Black Hawk helicopters, which were modified for stealth operation, during the raid on the compound was hit by a wind vortex and the tail hit a wall of the compound and the helicopter came down on it's side. Useless unflyable condition. It is thought that after the raid, Pakistan either allowed the Chinese to examine the helicopter or just gave it to them. Another possible addition to the puzzle of why the duplicate compound was built.
The Chinese may have reverse engineered the Black Hawk helicopter as part of the test. They had six years to do it, with the raid in 2011 and the 2017 coverage of the compound.
If you really want to go nuts, here's a story from a CIA operative named Ric Prado, who says bin Laden could have been taken out years before 9/11.
