Tillamook Air Museum: A-7E Corsair II (photo diary) [1]

Tillamook Air Museum, housed in a World War II Navy Blimp Hanger in Tillamook, Oregon, has an A-7E Corsair II. The A-7 Corsair II is a carrier-capable subsonic light attack aircraft which was designed and manufactured by Ling-Temco-Vought (LTV) as a replacement for the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk. It first flew in 1965 and was adopted by the U.S. Navy in 1967.

The A-7 Corsair flew more than 90,000 combat missions in Vietnam.

This aircraft has a cruising speed of 373 mph, a top speed of 693 mph, a service ceiling of 42,000 feet, and a range of 2,300 miles. It can carry 15,000 pounds of mixed ordinance. A total of 1,551 were produced. It was the last combat aircraft designed and built by LTV.
