A little help... [1]

Friends,

Through the decade that I’ve officially been on DK and the decade I lurked before that (shout out to Atrios and TBogg), I’ve always thought of DK as a community I belonged to. I’ve never asked for anything in all these years but now I’m asking for your help.

This week I was diagnosed with ASD. I’m in my mid 40s and all my adult life I’ve been living out here in the neurotypical world on my own with no support other than my own work. I’m educated and talented but I fear this diagnoses will be used to discriminate against me. I want to be able to live unmasked but that is not possible in the US right now.

Last week, my state stripped the civil rights away of people already being ostracized on a national level and I fear my rights are next. My ex constantly subjects me to harassment and my roommate is moving out because of that. People like me do not do very well in environments like this so I’m asking for help to get out of here.
