VA Sec Collins praises Trump/DOGE and explains how fewer employees & a smaller budget helps vets [1]

Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins sent the video above to me and millions of other veterans to explain what a great leader President Trump is and how DOGE will help make the VA run more efficiently and provide better service to veterans. I can see why a five-deferment draft dodger like Trump, who calls dead soldiers “suckers,” would want to make the VA into a first-class agency, and Collins is happy to explain how that’ll happen with less of everything.

Here’s a link to the actual four-minute video, which you’ll note is on Twitter. I guess that’s the official government platform now, but I never had and never will have a Twitter account, so I can’t read the 2.5K replies to the video. Maybe some readers here have a Twitter account and can tell us what thousands of veterans said to Secretary Collins. I’m sure there are countless replies like

“Thank you for firing nearly 80,000 VA employees because there are too many doctors and nurses as it is, and they constantly get in one another’s way.”

“That’s great that I can wait three months now for a checkup instead of two.”

“Thank you for cutting the VA budget because it’s bloated and there’s so much waste that could be eliminated, like those rural healthcare centers, and the VA staff is paid way too much.”

“I want to thank Big Balls, in particular, a guy who’s sacrificed so much for his country, for eliminating my monthly benefit check.”

The entire premise of Collins’ four-minute Big Lie is that there’s too much administration and bureaucracy in the VA, and if we just cut the paperwork, and the people who do it, the agency will be able to provide better service to veterans. Just like if we fire researchers at HHS Americans will have better healthcare, and if we fire inspectors at OSHA and FDA we’ll have safer products, and if we get rid of tens of thousands of IRS workers your taxes will be easier to file and your refund will come sooner. It’s all the same playbook: gut the agencies’ staff and budget so they can’t function, then either eliminate them (Education) or privatize them (VA).

I get a tiny monthly benefit from the VA to pay for the meds that keep the Agent Orange in my body under control. It took about 30 years to get the damn benefit because the government refused to admit that my condition was caused by AO. Today, I’m just waiting for a letter from Doug Collins explaining why the benefit is being eliminated—and just like in the video Collins will trumpsplain how no benefit is actually better for me.

Finally, WTF Arizona Senator Ruben Gallego? My Senator, a veteran, voted to confirm this jackass! I’m told Democrats thought if they voted for some of the less crazy nominees like Collins, Republicans would play ball and not vote to confirm the truly dangerous wackos like Patel and Gabbard. How’d that work out?
