D.O.G.E. hasn't done enough damage yet for Elon to be happy, so Trump brought in all his Secretaries to listen to Elon explain what they had to do again or else.
Donald had to do a long intro before describing the meeting and extolling the virtues of D.O.G.E.
"The Golden Age of America has just begun!"
Only in Trump's mind. The rest of us are seeing not only the start of a Great Recession, but a Great Depression to follow. And we will lead the rest of the world into it. Russia will be crippled without oil revenue. China not so much. Iran with also be crippled without oil sales. North Korea will just laugh.
"...delivered on promises like no Administration before it, always putting America First!"
Now people are beginning you understand what your concept of what America First means. It means whatever Donald Trump says it means.
"DOGE has been an incredible success."
It's incredible all right. But it's anything of a success. They have made so many errors in firing people, that the mistakes cannot be fixed for years, if not decades.
Even MAGA are going, "We didn't vote for this guy, we voted for Trump."
"I have instructed the Secretaries and Leadership to work with DOGE..." This is the second time, that we know about, that you had to tell your Secretaries to work with Musk. Like they didn't get the message the first time.
"As the Secretaries learn about, and understand, the people working in the various Departments..."
We already knew that they had no concept of how to run a large workforce. That's why we kept saying they were unqualified to be secretaries. You didn't listen. Now you've got inexperienced people working with an idiot that thinks he knows everything, and really knows nothing.
"We say the 'scalpel' rather than the 'hatchet.'"
I'm sure that makes people feel so much better that they're getting fired by a scalpel instead of a hatchet. What an incredibly insensitive human being, and I use that term loosely in regards to Trump.
"It's very important that we cut levels down to where they should be, but it's also important to keep the best and most productive people."
That's one of the biggest problems, because you're doing indiscriminate firing. You are losing the most productive people, and the most knowledgeable. But you don't know who's best, because best to you means people who follow your orders, not lawful orders.
"We're going to have these meetings every two weeks..."
More meetings, because they didn't get the message the first or the second time.
"The relationships between everybody in that room are extraordinary."
I'm afraid to ask. What kind of relationships are you talking about? Outside of work in bedrooms, or what? Give me a clue.
"They all want to get to the exact same place..."
We call that a pile-on. Like all the football players going after a fumble.
"MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
Not with this group of wannabes, thieves, grifters, and borderline, if not actual, criminals. And certainly not with Elon Musk.
I suppose we should be happy that they're not as intelligent and organized as they could be. But I'm not.
Right now, the best bet we've got are the lawsuits that are challenging DOGE's very existence. If it's an advisory Council, it has no authority. If it's an agency it has to be funded by Congress and its head approved by the Senate. If Elon Musk isn't the head of this advisory council/ agency, then who is? That hasn't been answered in any of the filings against them or their replies.
There are seven, count 'em, seven cases against D.O.G.E. about it's establishment by Executive Order 14158.
Just filed yesterday is Japanese American Citizen League v. Musk. It's also the Sierra Club and the Union of Concerned Scientists. And it's not just Musk as the defendants. It's got sixteen agencies listed. Musk and D.O.G.E. are at the top.
Wow, we finally find a lady named Amy Gleason as the acting Administrator of D.O.G.E. Her Wikipedia entry is one hour old. She worked for the U.S. Digital Service (which DOGE took over) from 2018 to 2021.
It's not a scoop. NPR had a story on her Feb.26th. On that day, Karoline Leavitt confirmed that, "Amy Gleason has been the DOGE Administrator for quite some time --- I believe several weeks, maybe a month --- I'm not sure of the specific timeline."
Now that I know the name, I'm finding a bunch of articles on her. How did it slip me by? Why wasn't it big news? There's not much background on her.
If she is an acting Administrator, that makes D.O.G.E. an agency and the budget has to come from Congress and a permanent Administrator has to be approved by the Senate. If DOGE accepts the filing, they confirm it's an agency, otherwise DOGE has to say it's incorrect, they're an advisory Council and they have no power to do what they're doing.
A target is in sight. Go get 'em seven times over!
