Lost Republicans [1]

['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.']

Instead of diversity, equity, and inclusion, Republicans dream of exclusive, supreme monoculture.

Republicans want America to be great, but not like 1950, because taxes were too high, and not like 1850, when we had some democracy.

Republicans are acting against our democratic, constitutional republic. They want a king, like 1750, in their own exclusive, supreme monoculture, but technologically advanced through exploitation of diverse, subordinate commoners.

Problem for Republicans is that others value constitutional ideals, such as freedom, equality and opportunity. Republicans lie about also being for those things while they lean on repressive and destructive militarism in hopes that they can lock in power.

Instead of publicly guided, data driven, reality based progress, Republicans demand that we live by their messianic faith and boss man directives.

Republicans find waste and corruption just in the names of programs that may encourage diversity. Instead of paying for that through congressionally approved funding, they want each and all of us to pay even more to protect their exclusive, supreme monoculture. They'd sooner kill us all than share wealth and power that we gave them in supply side bait and switch con jobs.

Republicans spout drill baby drill, while we burn baby burn. They want a clean environment after they tear down government agencies democratically constructed for a clean environment.

Republicans believe our health depends on influential internet anecdotes and corporate oversight over science that we pay for, manage, and keep open for all.

Republicans are all about big government by them and for them. They tear down what others have done, scheme their way to corrupt power, and elect a lying, rapist fraud as our savior.

Republicans are lost.

Problem for the rest of us is that Republicans are powerful, fearful, and brutal. Many true believers in Republican ranks are preparing for armed conflict rather than considering alternatives to their delusions of exclusive, supreme monoculture. A significant number are convinced that their eternal souls depend on fighting for this exclusive, supreme monoculture in some kind of holy war.

Our challenge is to slow the burning and help enough of the lost to find a way to coexist in our diverse, ever-changing world. We can share our home planet with other people, nations and species for future generations. We can have personal comfort and convenience in sustainable homes and communities existing within natural resource limits.

It won’t be easy. We must overcome our addiction to fossil fuels, and all of its impacts on our homes, communities and culture. Technology and consumerism are part of our world, but are not our saviors. We stand or fall together as a community of humans entirely dependent on complex natural systems found only here on Earth.
