Hate of the Union: Signs of the Times [1]

The only thing up on Trump's Truth Social this morning is a YouGov CBS News poll that says 76% of viewers approved of Trump's speech and 23% disapproved. I'm not going to dispute it, I just won't believe it. Many Democrats refused to watch the speech, so when counting actual viewers, the result is naturally skewed. Real polls will show an entirely different story later. Trump obviously thought this snap poll meant something. It doesn't.
I was hoping there would be some heckling, but I was rewarded in the first 15 minutes of the speech with repeated outbursts.
The biggest protest was Rep. Al Green. 77 years old, standing up and yelling at Trump and swinging his cane like he wished he could hit Trump with it. Over the top in comparison to the Republican heckling of Joe Biden.
He was so persistent that Speaker Johnson had to call the sargeant-at-arms to escort Rep. Green out of the chamber. Classic. This should be the headlines today instead of "5 takeaways from Trump's speech." Or even the speech with fact-checking annotations. This has never happened before. We've heard Trump way too many times.
So, I continued watching, hoping for more interruptions. There were sporadic shouts from individuals and sometimes a group, but things quieted down as the Democrats used their protest paddles to hold up their immediate response to what Trump was saying. At least one lady had a small dry erase board so she could write new things to hold up.
There were two ladies shown briefly leaving the chamber with black t-shirts that said "RESIST" on the back.
The protest paddles said many things:
False Save Medicaid Musk Steals Lies (lady with whiteboard) That's a lie! (same lady) Protect Veterans War Criminal
There were people who held up Ukrainian flags, ladies dressed in Ukraine yellow and blue, but most of the Democratic ladies wore pink as their sign of solidarity in their protest.
There were many who walked out of the chamber during the speech including Maxwell Frost and Jasmine Crockett.
Before Trump's speech, I did my own parody of it. I was spot on about him starting with talking about the Golden Age of America. Mine, however, was a much better speech than his.
