ADAPTIVE INDOMITABLE UKRAINE: Emerging Partnership of Ukraine & Norway, Building a Bulwark [1]

U.S. - European relations in the new Trumpian/Krasnovian era. It is becoming a case of be careful what you wish for. Hype and odious public showmanship only gets you so far. If Trump wished for Europe to assume more of the burden for defending itself from Russia(a danger he erroneously believes is non-existent), then his odious and ham-fisted treatment of Zelenskyy(and by extension all of Europe) could very well be the calculated move, the self-described 10th level chess master, had wished to make in his first term but was somehow unable to make at the time. He has gone and done that now. But as we all learned very early on in school about an immutable law of physics … for every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction. Newton’s Third Law of Motion.

It is becoming increasingly clear that Europe has gotten the message and putting into motion the requisite processes to not only up its collective defense game but to indeed start down the road to breaking loose from the American protective umbrella:

Europe has the resources to defend itself and back Ukraine against Russia European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen unveiled an unprecedented $840 billion plan to increase EU defense spending on March 4 as the continent continues to grapple with the dramatic changes taking place in the international security landscape amid US President Donald Trump’s new foreign policy agenda. “Europe is ready to massively boost its defense spending,” she stated in Brussels, noting that this was necessary to back Ukraine against ongoing Russian aggression and also “to address the long-term need to take on much more responsibility for our own European security.” www.atlanticcouncil.org/...

It would also appear that in the past day the fact of Europa bestirring herself and standing solidly behind Zelenskyy is not going unnoticed in the White House … that neither Ukraine nor Europe will grovel at Trump’s feet like the American Republican party has. Zelenskyy has said all the right statesman-like things but there will be no bowing to Trump’s desire for Zelenskyy to humiliate himself with a public apology to Trump. Not gonna happen. So having had your bluff called what does a vacuous bloviating bully do? Make mealy-mouthed face saving yet contradictory statements not backed up by his actual actions. Trump yesterday mentioned something about negotiations resuming with Ukraine(one of his minions, the Secretary of Commerce refutes it):

"Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than the Ukrainians," Trump said in an address to Congress on Tuesday while quoting from the letter. www.reuters.com/...

If others didn’t see the Trumpian/Krasnovian mistreatment of Ukraine coming, President Joe Biden did; making sure in the final months of his administration to surge a huge amount of weaponry to Ukraine, enough to help Ukraine hold its own and even get jiggy with some tactical counteroffensives. Ukraine has been very careful in its use of the stuff they have received, letting their fast advancing drones do a lot of the heavy lifting on the battle field. As Zelenskyy said regarding the Republican sponsored arms embargo of early 2024 … “we learned a very hard lesson”. And not only that but it is also becoming obvious that Ukraine has been quietly developing its own versions of some of the key armaments that it has received from the United States. For example, news came recently that Ukraine is in the final testing phases of its own version of the U.S. made Patriot Air Defense system. If Ukraine is to survive and win this war it has to close its air space as much as possible:

Ukrainian air defence system on par with US Patriot announced by Ukraine's commander-in-chief Ukraine is developing its own air defence system with capabilities equivalent to the American Patriot system, Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi has said. ..you know that during Soviet times, we [Ukraine – ed.] effectively manufactured all the controllers for anti-aircraft missile systems. So we have the capacity and the ability to create [such systems – ed.], and work is underway to develop our own domestic air defence system." www.pravda.com.ua/...

Rest assured this is not the only such system being fast tracked in Ukraine’s various versions of arms and munitions “Skunk Works”(Lockheed) or “Phantom Works”(Boeing). But such cutting edge weapon systems development and production costs a ton of money. Money Ukraine does not readily have at the moment. Enter an European country not listed in the above caption photo … Norway. Norway has its own history of not being ready when a powerful aggressor(Hitler) pounced, ushering in the baleful Nazi imposed government of Vidkun Quisling. Yeah, that Quisling. Norway is also acutely aware of its own present vulnerability to Russia … a nearly 200 mile common northern border and a long open coast line vulnerable to naval and amphibious attacks. The epic of the WWII Nazi Germany battleships Scharnhorst, Tirpitz and the Gneisenau are still quite vivid in collective Norwegian memory.

But the relatively undermanned Scandinavian country(population of 5.5 million, 33,000 active, 60,000 reserve under arms) has a few things going for it:

Some of the most advanced missile/munitions technologies in the world. Norway’s Joint partnership with Raytheon produces the NASAMS Air Defense System which currently protects Donald John Trump and the White House. America’s advanced stealth F-35 Fighter jets carry the Kongsberg-made Naval Strike Missile (NSM) for anti-ship and land-attack. And the Joint Strike Missile(JSM) for the USAF and Japan F-35. And the new armor-piercing ammunition (APEX) for the F-35. The world’s most advanced nano-drone The BLACK HORNET is the smallest most advanced and capable nano-UAV available. It is made in Norway. Ukraine already has these in use on the battlefield.

Perhaps the most important factor for Ukraine is Norway’s Money from its huge oil wealth. Norway's Government Pension Fund Global(Sovereign Fund) is the largest in the world at $1.8 trillion. Bigger than China’s. That’s a lot of cash. And now Norway is beginning the process of opening this vast vault to help Ukraine:

Norway Considers Using World’s Largest Sovereign Wealth Fund to Boost Support for Ukraine Norwegian authorities are considering a major increase in military aid to Ukraine and defense spending amid concerns over the new U.S. administration’s reluctance to continue supporting European allies, Euractiv reported on March 1. Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, who attended a Ukraine-focused summit of European leaders in London, has promised that the proposal will be unveiled shortly. united24media.com/...

Economists urge and defend use of Norway’s Oil Fund to support Ukraine No less than 47 prominent Norwegian economists, analysts and professors are calling on Parliament and the government to use Norway’s role as an “economic super power” and dramatically increase aid to Ukraine. The economists have also given top politicians an economic green-light to do so, claiming that spending limits placed on the country’s huge sovereign wealth fund (known as the Oil Fund) are no hindrance. www.newsinenglish.no/...

Trump cutting off Ukraine in an attempt to pressure Zelenskyy into kowtowing to his wishes for some nebulous concept of a plan for PEACE without security guarantees will in the short term hurt Ukraine quite a bit but in the long term, Ukraine will overcome the evil machinations of the joint Putin and Krasnovian Trumpist conspiracy.

ADAPTIVE INDOMITABLE UKRAINE… with the quiet-spoken but emerging economic super power, Norway, tapping its huge national sovereign wealth and Ukraine coming forward with its burgeoning weapons technologies, a new bulwark is about to emerge on the European scene. And Germany, too is about to end its self-imposed budgetary brake(Schuldenbremse) to aid Ukraine and to upgrade its own national infrastructure. Europe and Ukraine WILL STAND.

Oh, about the Nobel Peace Prize? Yeah, that too comes from Norway.
