Where's Our Democratic Voice? [1]

So I hear these preposterous lies coming from POTUS and I see wagging heads from the Press Corps and I squirm at the absolute cowardice of the Democratic leadership when they should be shouting on the Capitol steps that our elected president is a Russian tool, a fraud, a compromiser-in-chief willing and able to sell out our nation's history and future for a few pieces of $Trump coin and I'm wondering 'Where's our voice?' Where's the clear and resounding answer to Zelensky's 'are you with us, America?' that Trump was unwilling to give? Where's Obama or Schumer or Schiff? Where's Newsom or AOC? Every microphone should be on fire right now after witnessing the most embarrassing presser in the Oval Office in White House history.

I am ashamed for all of us, MAGA and sane person alike, that we should bear witness to the surrendering of American democracy to a Dutch Canadian from South Africa and a twice impeached digital rapist with a rap sheet longer than (and I can safely say) his manhood whilst the national sense of well being, of opportunity and hope, wither like the dreams of starry eyed government interns who had just found their dream jobs working for the American people.

It is not enough to stay silent. It is not enough to 'call your Congressperson'. It is not enough to sit and type out grievances on this keyboard as long as I know that we are hurdling towards the next Reichstag fire, the next Chechan movie theater massacre, the next Moscow apartment bombing, then ultimately, the next Lafayette Park protest that Trump and Company will use to order martial law (or marital law, as Marjorie Greene calls it) to curtail or even eliminate the next voting cycle in order to keep control of the House of Representatives, a body of government slowly slipping into both insanity and irrelevance.

I say again,'Where's our voice?' Have we truly become leaderless? Do we truly not have a 'go-to' in the Democratic Party that can call a news conference and have somebody show up? Are we that rudderless? How about a chorus of Senators and Congresspeople standing shoulder to shoulder with Bernie and Moscowitz and Stansbury screaming bloody murder over the Mascara Massacre in the Oval. JD all but sipping borscht, Trump strumming a balalaika....but Zelensky, nobody was calling Kiev chicken on his watch. He was having none of it. And neither should we!

So should we call anybody or what? OK, yes, fine let's do it. The Capitol switchboard is: 202-224-3121. Give them the support and the critique they deserve, but don't get weird. I don't envy them, in fact, I respect the hell out of what they do. It. Is. Not. Easy. But there are more colorful things you can do to add flavor to your day. I suggest the following:

Remember when the Russian battleship, the Moscova, was ribbing the Ukranians on Snake Island off the Ukranian coast? The Ukranians had a sluggish but fitting response...Go fuck yourselves!. It was a short but memorable rallying cry and surprise, surprise!, they sank the Moscova. Play boo hoo on that, Svetlana. So I say in the spirit of that rally cry, that Remember the Alamo moment, that we send UPS boatloads of homemade sex toys to the White House so that, they, too, can Go fuck themselves! into temporal oblivion. They're close already (looking at you, Elmo) so with luck this could push them over the edge. And please don't test the toys out before you mail them. That's gross.

Well, on second thought, test away! Might as well do it to yourself before they do it to you.
