Social Security Announces Expedited Retroactive Payments and Higher Monthly Benefits for Millions – [1]

I have updated this diary below.
My husband was supposed to get his $2,200 Social Security payment deposited into our bank account March 19, 2025. It was received today in the amount of $19,438.70. It appears to be legitimate, according the the SS website. Does anyone know anything about this?
From the SS website: “Social Security’s aggressive schedule to start issuing retroactive payments in February and increase monthly benefit payments beginning in April supports President Trump’s priority to implement the Social Security Fairness Act as quickly as possible,” said Lee Dudek, Acting Commissioner of Social Security. “The agency’s original estimate of taking a year or more now will only apply to complex cases that cannot be processed by automation. The American people deserve to get their due benefits as quickly as possible.”
The mystery is solved I went to my SS account, and the payment is for me! I have a federal pension, so I don’t get SS, although, I paid a small amount into SS before I was 20 years old. The over $19,000 deposit is for me. It is legit. It’s a one-time payment due to the Social Security Fairness Act.
