I didn't even have to make up some hyperbole for the headline. He really did do it.

This is happening at the same time as Russia is expanding cyber attacks on Ukraine and NATO countries.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has ordered the U.S. Cyber Command to halt offensive operations against Russia. Hegseth gave the order to the head of the command Air Force General Tim Haugh in late February. It is unclear how long the order will last.

A senior U.S. defense official declined to comment on the decision due to "operational safety concerns." "There is no greater priority to Secretary Hegseth than the safety of the Warfighter in all operations, to include the cyber domain."

Sounds like the normal PR fluff that we can't talk about it, but we would never do anything wrong. When it comes to Hegseth, you know that's not true.

Cyber Command said in a statement that it's "mission is to defend against all cyber threats to us critical infrastructure, including from Russia. There has been no change in our posture." I don't see how there can possibly be no change when Hegseth has specified there is a change.

Representatives of Cyber Command did not immediately respond with a request for comment. The Russian Embassy also did not respond with a request for comment.

Everyone is saying I know nothing, when they do know something.

"Moscow views cyber disruptions as a foreign policy lever to shape other countries' decisions and continuously refines and employes it's espionage, influence, and attack capabilities against a variety of targets."

Sen. Chuck Schumer called the stoppage a transparent attempt to curry favor with Putin.

"Donald Trump is so desperate to earn affection of a thug like Vladimir Putin that he appears to be giving him a free pass as Russia continues to launch cyber operations and ransomware attacks against critical American infrastructure, threatening our economic and national security. It is a critical strategic mistake for Donald Trump to unilaterally disarm against Putin."

The Treasury Department on Dec.31st, issued sanctions by its Office of Foreign Assets Control against Russia and Iran for interference in the 2024 elections. AI tools were used to generate deepfake videos and disinformation on at least 100 websites and used U.S. facilitators knowingly and unknowingly to disseminate Russian propaganda.

Can we say that Russia did everything it could to get Donald Trump re-elected? Yes, of course.

Microsoft has a 114 page Digital Defense Report that covers from July, 2023 to June, 2024, that details the who, how and why of all the cyber terrorism. How does Microsoft know this? Because "we process 78 trillion security signals per day, from billions of Windows endpoints, the cloud, and a broad spectrum of products and services". Here's just one little chunk from one page.

The report has so much detail it would take forever to paraphrase it. The state actors in sequence of volume of attacks are Russia, China, North Korea and Iran.

Trump's "Russia, Russia, Russia hoax" isn't one. It's been ongoing since before the 2016 election and is ongoing to this minute. Both times the favoritism has been to Donald Trump's advantage.

Trump asked Russia to find Hillary's emails in 2016 and the Russians not only did start to do so immediately, but they got them to WikiLeaks who released them, giving the Russians cover.

For the 2024 election, Trump didn't even have to ask. They were actively turning Americans into their tools to change opinions and viewpoints. And it worked. Trump got elected because of Russia's efforts. The ignorant voters who did vote, did so at Russia's behest.

The decision to stop monitoring and attacking Russia comes at a critical moment in U.S., Russia and Ukraine relations. It is a favor to Putin. Trump made the decision. Hegseth is merely carrying it out. Does Trump know he's being manipulated? No, of course not. That's why he was so angry at H.R. McMaster for pointing it out on 60 Minutes.

Tonight, Donald Trump will give a speech. You will see him paint Russia as an ally instead of adversary, because suddenly, Russia wants to end the war while Ukraine does not.

Krasnov is no longer a joke. It's a plainly seen reality.
