The surprise attack on President Zelensky was neatly staged like a soap opera climax for a Friday news dump. Just in time for the evening news in this country, but too late in the day for Europe. So, Europe wakes to weirdness in Washington on Saturday. Europe wakes to the shabby treatment of their champion. Just like that, the whole world was destabilized.
What ally can ever trust the United States or the word of the United States or the promises of the United States? For decades, Republicans have whined like a bad wheel bearing. “Why does the United States have to be the world’s policeman?” The pat answer has always been. “Who would you choose to replace us?” But the question is no longer academic. Everyone will police themselves and be their own policeman. And when there isn’t a big policeman around to protect you anymore. You need weapons, lots of weapons. Nuclear weapons! If South Korea can't depend on the US, she’ll depend on mother uranium and the hot neutron gang.
Ditto for Taiwan and ditto Saudi Arabia. If they can’t depend on the West, they won’t tolerate a nuclear Iran. Every country with a grievance or border dispute now needs a bomb. Japan needs multiple bombs and hypersonic missiles. A US submarine was due for fueling and was denied by a Norwegian Company. You don’t need Google Translate to know that’s Norwegian for “Fuck off!”
Zelensky’s return was treated like Jesus with a winning lottery ticket. Come on in the house, were those American assholes mean to you? Europe has coalesced around Zelensky and against the United States. The whole world was destabilized just that quick. The chances of a wider War become a near certainty and the chances of a nuclear exchange move to fifty – fifty. But at least we aren’t the world’s policeman anymore. We can save a fortune!
If you were The People’s Republic of China and had actual desires on Taiwan, could there ever be a better time to invade? Because obviously, President Dim Bulb and boy blunder can’t be counted on to come to Taiwan’s aid. Taiwan just needs to make accommodations with Beijing and stop being so hostile towards them. Chances of a war in Asia in the next the next four years, fifty - fifty.
Pete “Spuds” Hegseth plans out the invasion of Mexico. Certain turning our Southern Border into a war zone won’t affect cross border trade any. The King just can’t decide. One day he wants to invade Yemen and the next day Iran. The military leadership is also torn. Do they leave now and get out of the service before the shit comes down? Or do they stay for the sake of their buddies, coworkers and their service?
Did you notice after the White Palace had made their remonstrations against the Ukrainians. They got quiet, the way children get quiet when they first realize they are in trouble. (Uh, oh!) Elon has boarded his private submarine to search his private ocean. To keep his ugly mug off the front pages for a few days. Just imagine yourself as the richest person on earth. And now, you and your cars and your rockets and satellites are universally despised.
A disaster of unimaginable consequences and a wounding of this Presidency. They stepped in it, and they know it. The Administration has no way to back out as Europe is basically not speaking to us. “They will go their own way.” And so, the dollar will ebb as the world’s reserve currency. But at least we aren’t the world’s policeman anymore.
The protests are great but seem misguided. I don’t want to save the National Park Service or weather service. I want to save America! If we save America, we can save the parks and the schools and hospitals. But if we all go out and protest for our own 3.122% of the workforce we will LOSE! The Fascists are the enemies!
Republicans in Congress are scared and should be. And should be even more scared because that is all the King understands is what he can get away with. Terrified Congressman will slow the King. Terrified Congressman won’t go along with invasions or incursions. They need to know if they touch social programs, they will draw back nub. A political death as certain as a gun to the head. The chances for trouble in the streets this summer are better than fifty – fifty. Remember, you can’t scare an old person with a life sentence. And you’ll have to come outside eventually.
Let’s understand what they plan. They plan to close hospitals and people will die. They plan to close weather offices and people will die. Do you fly? Guess where the airline checks the weather? They plan to defund schools and to limit your children’s futures. They will gladly sacrifice your children’s futures to save some nickels on their taxes.
During WW-2 as the Churchill family ate dinner, his daughter asked, “What if German paratroopers come? What do we do?” Sir Winston answered, “You go to the kitchen and get a carving knife and you take one of them with you!”
It was War. Either you fight or you die. This is a War. It is an organized attempt by a Fascist clique to subvert the American form of government. To rob from you your birthright paid for with the blood of our ancestors. To steal the America, you know and turn it into a business where you simply exist to buy stuff from your betters. To live outside with the untermunchin and sleep in the grass at night and eat when you can. To hobble when you can’t walk and to just die when you get sick. Soylent Green is made of people.
