So-called Centrist Democrats think we need less progressive activism, less AOC style politics, less on the left, and more fucking gun shows. They want to push this party to the right in the face of growing fascism, in the face of concentration camps, in the wake of our betrayal of democracy abroad. Centrist Democrats want us to drop to our knees to the gun lobby, to the anti-Gay hate brigade, to the violent and fascist right, because even after they got their asses kicked time and time again trying to chase those republican crossovers, they think the problem was we didn’t swing right enough.
This is why the fascists won. Harris came out swinging, and then she got told to run to the center, to be nice, to mince her words, to campaign with Republicans in swing states, to abandon the base. It’s why we lost congress when we did — Biden fucked over the left in favor of courting the center right.
If this is the direction the party takes, a position that ignores the dehumanization of LGBTQIA people, who abandons migrants, who abandons the kids getting gunned down in schools, then we fucking deserve what’s to come for all of us.
