KOS, please don’t stop asking for support for this web site and all it does, but for *so many* reasons, quit gaslighting us with this inane made up number of “stories read”. Even if “this month” is the last 30 days, I haven’t viewed more than five stories here, since I’ve been so depressed over the seeming demise of the USA that many of us thought still stood for a few things that are good and right in the world.
I beg you all at DK, treat your readers like adults, like reasoning beings who care ...appeal to our better nature in a way that lets us know it’s good for us and our favored causes to make that contribution, just don’t add the implied guilt cherry on top, *especially* when it’s a number that has no basis in reality!
On a similar subject, I can’t tell you how disillusioning it is to keep getting BS texts from what may or may not be pro-Democratic super PACs, telling me that if I just give $50 in the next 1 hour, we can repeal Citizens United, and other pipe dream crap that would be nearly impossible, even if Democrats held a majority in both the House and Senate. Gaslighting, “alternate facts”, untruths and twisted half-truths are expected from the opposite side of the aisle, but it cuts much deeper coming from those I would wish to count as allies.
Straight talk might hurt, but I think we need more of it now, than we as a Country have needed it for many years.
