Intelligence isn’t measured by degree of education but rather by the thirst for knowledge. Education is the opportunity to learn and knowledge is the reward. Today more than ever, information has value but only when examined, weighed and processed through a skeptical (not cynical) mind trained to gather facts and weigh opinions, particularly when those opinions are confronted with facts. There is a firehose of propaganda flooding the Internet and a gullible audience out there to consume it.

As the Trump junta prepares to decimate the Department of Education and attack the free press, it is refreshing to receive a reminder of the value and meaning of a Liberal Arts education from a voice out of the conservative desert, George Pyle of the Salt Lake Tribune. Here’s a link.
