Trump is a traitor - and elected Dems are STILL not meeting the moment. Not even close. PART 1 [1]

The Oxford English Dictionary defines “traitor” as a person who betrays a friend, country, principle, etc.” Merriam Webster defines it as “ (1] one who betrays another’s trust or is false to an obligation or duty or (2] one who commits treason, which it in turn defines as (1) the offense of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government of the state to which the offender owes allegiance or to kill or personally injure the sovereign or the sovereign's family or (2) the betrayal of a trust: treachery.”
By any standard — including the overt acts to overthrow the government standard based on the events of late 2020 — January 2021 — the convicted felon squatting in, and staining, the Oval Office, is a traitor. Many times over, in fact
The historic abomination that was yesterday’s clown show in the Oval Office with a genuine hero in Zelenskyy was just the most vivid and recent example of such betrayals. One which will very likely have horrific ramifications for us as a country — and others — for years to come. Trump betrays his oath of office to ececute and faithfully execute the laws of the United States each and every day. He betrays our closest allies— from Canada to Ukraine and everywherin between. He betrays our democratic values and our institutions. He betrays our common respect for the rule of law. He betrays any sense of basic shared humanity. He is, in short, a cesspool of betrayal and treachery. And yes, he is a traitor,
Which makes all of those craven, spineless, morally bankrupt, hypocritical Republican cowards in the House and Senate — every single one of them — who enable and support that traitor treasonous.
And which make the still all-too tepid Democratic response all the more pathetic and infuriating.
Quite outside of he Ukraine space — which, to be clear, is more than sufficient for a unified and sustained furious response by itself — let’s just a look at a few of the things that Musk, Trump and company have done over 40 days. Only 40 days. With the passive acquiesce and, and most cases, full-blooded support, of the entire Republican Party:
They have destroyed the integrity of the entire Department of Justice. In 40 days.
They have corrupted the entire FBI, the nation’s premier law enforcement agency, In 40 days.
They have freed a ton of violent criminals, ranging from those who assaulted law enforcement officers to drug traffickers to sex traffickers, and have refused to prosecute a number of Republican supporters.
They have attempted to launch baseless political probes on non-supporters, and have punished those merely in the orbit of their actual targets, like the law firm of former Special Counsel Jack Smith
Unelected rich neo-nazi sympathizing, socially inept billionaire and his band of 20-something child incels have decimated federal agencies across the agivernment, gutting them of funding and expertise
They have fired thousands or tens of thousands of federal employees, deeply harming and disrupting their lives and those off their families, the vast majority of whom for no merit-based reason at all. None.
They have fired air traffic controllers even as we have a glut of air crashes, resulting in a shortage, as well as those fighting an Ebola outbreak and veterans and among many, many, many other examples of utter stupidity
They have killed work on climate change, the single biggest global threat we all face in teh coming years and decades.
They have gutted scientific work in all of our institutions, including world class leaders such as the National Institutes of Health.
They have destroyed US AID, one of the most prominent sources of US soft power, that has saved millions of lives over the years…. for no reason at all. Many, many people will die because of this
They have hired and promoted staggeringly unqualified racists, ignorant, corrupt and rabid conspiratorial partisan nuts and Russian allies to head some of our most important political posts
They have trashed our relationships with our allies, emboldened dictators around teh world, signed off on Russian interference in our and other elections, and made it much more likely that democracies like Taiwan will be attacked and sabsorbed by authoritarian regimes.
They have conducted wild , unhinged, unfocused raids of the undocumented, not giving a shit how many innocent folks and families are torn apart in the process
They have illegally ripped the constitutional power of the purse away from a supine, weak, and chickenshit Republican Party, which doesn;’t have the balls to defend and hold on to its own constitutional powers
They apparently steal contracts from Verizon and turn them over to enrich Musk, conflicts of interest be damned, and try to illegally steal back $20 billion from EPA
They have placed conspiracy nuts and January 6 insurrectionists in prominent government posts.
I could go on and on and on….. (and this doesn't even touch on the viscious assaults on thing related to DEIJ, or transgender folks, or immigrants
None of this is normal. None of this is acceptable. And yet, the Democratic response is not cutting it.
