The World has had Enough Scenario
THIS IS FICTION, A STORY I MADE UP!
After the White House dust-up between President Zelensky of Ukraine, President Trump, and Vice-President Vance, the rest of the world’s leaders quickly concluded that the United States abandoned its post-World War Two role as leader of the so-called Free World. In the Summer of 2025, in the United Nations building in New York, the rest of the world’s democratic countries formed another alliance of nations called the United Democracies of the World (UDW). The United States was not formally invited to join this new group, although American diplomats were welcomed to observe the UDW proceedings. The leaders of all the countries realized that, except for the military, they collectively had the industrial, agricultural, and technological capabilities to match the “great powers” of the United States, China, and Russia. The members of the UDW knew they had the natural resources the “great powers” needed. They also knew that the American leadership’s unfortunate tendency toward autocracy would be relatively short-lived because of America’s need to maintain good diplomatic relations with the countries of the UDW, especially its trade relationships. A key moment in world diplomacy happened when a UDW leader announced, “In truth, we do not need the United States anymore.” Thanks to a viral social media post, the UDW movement became known as “Calypso Frelimo,” named after a relatively obscure track from a 1974 Miles Davis album. Another key diplomatic event that year was when the United States Secretary of State dramatically resigned from his post. During a press conference, he announced that he could no longer support or work for a President of the United States who did not “believe in democratic norms and bilateral negotiations.” Further, he said, “This President is willfully ignorant of basic geography and historical facts. I cannot and will not be a part of this shambolic mess where the President’s narcissism and superiority complex infects the entire government. I’m done.”
