A Demented Geriatric And A Sycophantic Adolescent Walk Into.... [1]

A demented geriatric and a sycophantic adolescent walk into a bar, I mean, an oval room. The geriatric tells the adolescent to sit in the corner. After a concerted effort, the adolescent, unable to find a corner, deposits himself subserviently at the foot of the geriatric. Also in the oval room is a man who has demonstrated, time and again, unwavering love of, and commitment to, his country. His moral credentials are indisputable. The geriatric and the adolescent, devoid of any such credentials, embrace their immorality and attempt to berate, humiliate and extort the man into submission. During the exchange the adolescent, hoping to get a belly rub or an extra treat, obsequiously panders to the geriatric. (It is a fool’s errand, as the geriatric will immediately dispense with the adolescent when his usefulness is in question.) Meanwhile, the man rejects the extortion and departs, his integrity intact, whilst the degenerate characters of the geriatric and the adolescent are on full display for all to see. Too bad that the geriatric and the adolescent hold the once venerable positions of president and vice-president of the United States. Too bad that they desecrated the once hallowed space of the oval office.
