Timothy Snyder's eloquent take on today's fiasco [1]

Timothy Snyder is a brilliant historian with a deep understanding of Russia and Ukraine. He’s also a noted author of such seminal works as On Freedom and On Tyranny. I think every American should watch this clear and eloquent analysis of the five stark failures committed by our leadership today.

The five failures are of hospitality, decency, democracy, strategy, and independence. Perhaps the most surprising and the most damaging is the last one, but he is absolutely correct about all of them.
