Because we are such a large country its hard to get massive demonstrations like there are in European nations (Georgia, France etc..) Ours are all spread out and don't get the coverage except maybe local news.
Might I suggest something on the order of the Veterans Bonus Army march on Washington.
With many vets being fired they could be the vanguard with other fired gov employees joining in. Supporters would of course be welcome to join up too!
Starting on the West coast (just as the Bonus Army started in Oregon), imagine thousands of pissed off people marching on Washington, (Picture the Forrest Gump running scene but much bigger), support vehicles, horses, motorcycles, bicycles, unicycles, (I'm getting carried away here). Social media would run out of band width.
Would do you think? Sort of a nation walking in singing a bar of Alice's Restaurant and walking IN.
And can you, can you imagine fifty people a day, I said fifty people a day walking in singin' a bar of Alice's Restaurant and walking out. And friends they may thinks it's a movement.
Bonus Army History
In 1932, with the Northwest lumber industry hit especially hard by the Depression and with “Hoovervilles” springing up in the city’s Sullivan Gulch and elsewhere, Portland became a center of activity for a direct-action political movement known as the Bonus Army. By late 1931, thousands of unemployed World War I veterans across the country had begun to call on Congress to pay their long-promised enlistment bonus ten years early (it was not due until 1942). In the opening months of 1932, Portland veterans became increasingly vocal, some of them calling for a veterans’ march on Washington, D.C.
