Poll: Should Federal Employees Respond to DOGE E-mails With a Poop Emoji? [1]

When Elon Musk bought Twitter, he set it so any inquiries to the PR department received a single poop emoji in response. Should federal employees respond to DOGE e-mails from [email protected] the same way?

Pro: Funny

Con: Those employees could be singled out for retribution. Elon may try to declare a poop emoji as a resignation.

Personally, I think continuing to reply with poop emojis after a threat of taking that as a resignation would be funnier. I have two coworkers who replied “Resign” to the previous e-mail. One changed his mind and was able to get out of it. Another hasn’t received his final sign out paperwork yet, and may have to show up on Monday. So, it’s not like resignations via these e-mails are the last word.

I e-mailed my union rep suggesting this earlier this week, but have yet to receive a response. If you think this’d be a good idea, please spread the turd. I mean word.

To add an emoji to an Outlook message, place the cursor where you want the emoji to go, hold down the Windows key, and press . (period). A list of emojis will pop up. To set Outlook to automatically reply to all [email protected] e-mails with a poop emoji, do the following:

Right Click an e-mail from [email protected], select "Rules", then "Create Rule"

Check the box saying "From [email protected]"

Click "Advanced Options"

Click "Next"

Check the box saying "have server reply using a specific message"

In the "Step 2:" window, click the phrase "a specific message"

In the Outlook Message that appears, enter a poop emoji in the body

Close the Outlook message window. When it asks "Want to save your changes", click "Yes"

If the Compatibility Window shows up, click "Switch to HTML", then close and save the message again

You should be back in the Rules Wizard. Click "Next"

Click "Next" again to bypass the exemptions window

Enter a name for this rule and click "Finish"
