Bully Boys Trump and Vance disrespectfully attack President Zelensky [1]

I contacted the Ukrainian Embassy after witnessing what happened in the Oval Office yesterday to sincerely apologize for the atrocious bullying President Zelensky experienced at the hands of Donald Trump, JD Vance and all their cronies who were in the Oval Office at what was supposed to be a diplomatic meeting to negotiate a contract for investing in Ukraine's rare metals. It is quite obvious from the number of bystanders in the room and the fact that there were press cameras filming what transpired that Trump never had any intention of making this a diplomatic meeting. A diplomatic meeting would have occurred between Trump and President Zelensky and a few other officials from the US and Ukraine in private with announcements made of what transpired at the scheduled teleconference after the meeting. This was simply an ambush, another episode of Trump's ongoing reality show in which he attempts to show how "strong" he is but ends up looking like the weak, repellent, unempathetic bully he is.

I have so many questions but am too shell-shocked right now at what transpired to start researching the answers. Why would the meeting that should have been a private, diplomatic meeting between a few high-ranking officials from both sides, be set up the way it was with so many bystanders, many of whom appear to not even be government employees/officials? Why was there a press conference even scheduled for after the meeting, if the meeting was set up to be televised live? Was Zelensky aware he would be facing a roomful of hostile actors in front of MAGA media television cameras before he arrived? Was Zelensky the sole representative of Ukraine in that room or were there other Ukrainian officials there too intimidated to speak? Why was Marjorie Taylor Greene’s, ultra-MAGA Real America’s Voice’s reporter boyfriend, who has no role in government, allowed to question Zelensky in a “diplomatic meeting”? Why wasn’t the topic of a deal for US investment in Ukraine’s rare metals actually negotiated to address Zelensky’s concerns when that was supposed to be the topic of the meeting?

As usual, these MAGA idealogues focused on inane, unimportant, irrelevant details, like why Zelensky wasn’t wearing a suit and why Zelensky wasn’t thanking Trump, rather than the real issue at hand, how to find a way to end the war without rewarding Putin.

When I first heard about this meeting a few days ago, I was leery of what would happen, fearing that it was a tactic to twist the screws tighter on President Zelensky to try to bully him into accepting a deal for the rare metals without any security guarantees. I did not want President Zelensky to come to any agreement with Trump for those rare metals because, if past is prologue, Trump would renege on anything he agreed the US would provide after the deal was signed, like he has with every business deal he has ever been involved in. In fact, it turned out worse than I could ever have imagined, with a bunch of jack-ass MAGA bully boys (they are not men) trying to intimidate and bully President Zelensky into not only bending his knee to Trump, but getting down on his hands and knees to kiss Trump’s feet.

Despite Trump and Vance’s insistence President Zelensky thank Trump, there is no reason for Zelensky to thank Trump. President Zelensky has thanked President Biden and the American people and Congress many times over for our support during President Biden’s administration. It was President Biden, not Trump, who fought for supplying the aide Ukraine needed which was set up in a manner to stimulate the American economy by purchasing weapons built here to provide them. Trump has done nothing but bully, disrespect and spread lies about President Zelensky for over a decade in an attempt to destroy his reputation with the American public and other nations to buddy up to Putin. Unfairly calling President Zelensky a dictator and trying to lay the blame on him instead of Putin for starting the war, to a bridge way to far. This dog and pony show that occurred today was simply another step in Trump’s plan to make himself a dictator; it was simply another stunt to try and make Trump look strong, when all it did was make him look like a fool, bullying and torturing a man who has already been under tremendous pressure for over three years trying to prevent his country and people from being annihilated by the world’s worst bully. Piling on someone like this who is in such dire straits is unforgivable – there is special place in hell for these monsters. Trump and Vance and the rest of their MAGA cronies, have no ability for sympathy, empathy or playing fair. I would like to see them handle the stress President Zelensky has been under for over three years now (decades really because Ukraine has been under siege by Russia since 2014) with even 1% of the grace President Zelensky has and continues to exhibit.

It is evident Trump has no intention of negotiating a fair truce to this war or for continuing to provide Ukraine what it needs to defend itself as a sovereign democratic country. I only hope that Canada, the UK, NATO and all other UN countries that branded Putin a war criminal will come together and find a way to provide the support Ukraine was getting from the US under the Biden administration and cut the US out of the equation now that they have seen what transpired today in the Oval Office. I hope that any potential deals with the US for Ukraine's resources are now dead because the Trump administration is not an honest, trustworthy partner. Any deals for investment in Ukraine's resources are best made with European countries.

Since our current government, will not be supporting Ukraine, all American citizens who support and believe in Ukraine (there are more of us who do than don’t) must band together and individually contribute to Ukraine’s cause. We can do this in three simple steps:

Contact the Ukrainian embassy in Washington, DC and Consulate in New York (I have provided the contact information below) to apologize for Trump and Vance’s atrocious treatment of President Zelensky and tell Ukraine you support their president and their cause. If you know someone in the Ukrainian government, it would be even better to contact him/her with the same message. Spread your message of support for Ukraine as widely as possible using whatever communication means you have at your disposal (face-to- face, phone, church/social groups, social media, etc.) Donate to a group who is providing assistance to Ukraine (whether by providing food/toiletries/clothing, refurbished vehicles such as ambulances, weapons or related devices to help in the fight, or services) or volunteer some time to one of those groups if you can’t donate. I have provided a short list below but there are many other groups doing good work there (just remember to check if a group is legit before donating).
