First term Republican Congressman Jeff Hurd of Colorado CD-3 has learned quickly to NEVER face your constituents when you are pushing unpopular policies and support illegal actions by your president. You just do NOT APPEAR at townhall meetings, especially when you are invited by your voters. And if say you do show up at a planned meeting to discuss some issues with “a few” people and hundreds of angry voters are there, why you do what staffer Naomi Dobbs did. You run for the hills!
Rep. Jeff Hurd’s staffer left event site after seeing crowd at Dolores Public Library Montezuma County sheriff offered to escort regional director in and out of location
Feet don’t fail me now!!!
Seems that Ms. Dobbs thought she was meeting with just a few women from The League of Women Voters, but what she got instead was this:
Those are people are in the overflow crowd outside The League Of Women Voters meeting.
According to the article, Ms. Dobbs took one look at the crowd and decided to leave. This was even after the local sheriff stated he would escort her into the room.
It seems that word got out the Ms. Dobbs was a no show, but the League of Women Voters came to her rescue. They put out a statement that Ms. Dobbs did actually show up to the meeting, then she left! Ms. Dobb then sent a “vague” email to the group after she tucked her tail and ran away about “working something out in the future.”
As for her boss, Congressman Jeff Hurd, he was invited by his constituents to attend a townhall meeting, but Hurd declined to show.
Western Slope CD3 residents gather for town hall without Rep. Jeff Hurd
Now, in Hurd’s “defense,” this even was organized by Indivisible, but it was still voters in his district who asked to see him. And…
About 400 people packed the sanctuary of the First Congregational Church in Grand Junction this weekend for a Colorado Congressional District Three town hall meeting. According to one attendee, constituents drove as much as four hours to attend the event, hoping to speak with Representative Jeff Hurd. Organizers say Hurd failed to respond to multiple requests for the meeting.
Hurd is also proud of his vote to cut Medicaid, even though there are 154,000 of his constituents dependent upon Medicaid!
I’m having flashbacks to Brave Sir Robin from Monty Python fame.
