OK, it may sound silly, but I’m still stewing about this conundrum. What can you do when some mutant punk thinks he has absolute power, including to “send away” anyone he doesn’t like? And everyone around him is in fear that he actually does have that power.
Well nobody does have such power. Whoever can muster the cojones should gather around lil Donny, even in the oval office, and confront him with “You don’t HAVE such power, there is NO SUCH THING. You are out of your goddam mind!” Now I know, they don’t think they can do that, or should do that, or they don’t have the courage to do that. Know what “Anthony” of the “Twilight Zone” would do? He would will them out into a cornfield, or worse (and he did do worse).
Know what would happen next? “Anthony/Donny” would be ALL ALONE! — no one to serve him, no one to obey him, no one to sweet talk him. NO ONE. And that would destroy him, because he needs all their attention and subservience, MAGAs and non-voters and all.
He might try to exercise his power, or he might just implode and find himself in a vacuum universe, empty of power. He loses. Do many people get hurt or killed? Of course, but that was going to happen anyway. Personally, I prefer the Hitler “final solution,” which was to off himself.
Total fantasy — but gimme a break man, what else can I do?
I know, even if such were true — there are plenty of wannabe fascists around who would be so f’ing stupid as to try to pick up the banner and carry on into insane futility.
I’m beyond realistic despondency.
