Here in Missouri, our license plates have a very apt phrase: show me.
Show me how a poor person living in Delaware pays a higher federal tax rate than a poor person living in Nebraska.
Show me how a person living beside the Mississippi River in Illinois is just a good honest hard-working human, while across the river in Missouri it's nothing but lazy welfare queens driving Cadillacs and drinking Starbucks.
Show me how a rich man in Pennsylvania is supporting his nation, while a rich man in West Virginia is a theif.
Democrats like to make broad accusations based on gut feelings, but they can't show you the numbers because they have no numbers. What few numbers they have are cherry-picked, showing that agricultural subsidies are mostly granted to areas that have the most agriculture.
Much of the Democrat whining seems rooted in their smug sense of unearned superiority over rural Americans. Democrats like to punch down on those who have less, on those who are marginalized, on those of us who don't worship at the altar of Urbanity.
I'd laugh at the foolish cityfolks if it weren't so serious. But there's nothing funny about geographical supremacists.
