Well, that Tesla Takedown rally I participated two Saturdays ago where only 13 people showed up apparently drew upwards of one hundred this past weekend, while in nearby San Francisco around 1000 protesters convened.
Meanwhile across the country Republican lawmakers are meeting with dissatisfied constituents at town halls
After a month of falling prey to ‘shock and awe’ tactics, people are finally beginning to connect with their fury, fueled by outrage over the Trump/Musk team.
NBC reports:
After facing blowback from constituents, several House Republicans are returning to Washington this week on a mission to demand both more information and a more considerate approach from the Elon Musk-led effort to downsize the federal government. Rep. Rich McCormick, R-Ga., who was confronted during a testy town hall in his deep red district last week, said he plans to reach out to Musk and urge him to show more compassion amid the Department of Government Efficiency's execution of federal budget cuts and layoffs.
From the NYT:
When Representative Pete Sessions, Republican of Texas, arrived at a crowded community center on Saturday in the small rural town of Trinity in East Texas, he came prepared to deliver a routine update on the administration’s first month in office. Instead, he fielded a barrage of frustration and anger from constituents questioning Mr. Trump’s agenda and his tactics — and pressing Mr. Sessions and his colleagues on Capitol Hill to do something about it. “The executive can only enforce laws passed by Congress; they cannot make laws,” said Debra Norris, a lawyer who lives in Huntsville, arguing that the mass layoffs and agency closures Mr. Musk has spearheaded were unconstitutional. “When are you going to wrest control back from the executive and stop hurting your constituents?”

MSNBC Shakeup
Monday evening was the last show for Joy Reid at MSNBC and her firing elicited criticism from her fellow hosts. Reid was not the only one to be fired or to step down in the shakeup. NBCAnchor Lester Holt announced he was leaving and MSNBC cancelled Ayman Mohyeldin, Katie Phang, Jonathan Capehart, and Alex Wagner.
x The former MSNBC host has blasted the network for axing multiple non-white anchors, referring to the cuts as a “racist purge.”

From the Guardian
In her show on Monday evening, Maddow was highly critical of the shakeup, including the cancellation of Reid’s show, and the network’s handling of the changes. “Personally, I think it is a bad mistake to let her walk out the door,” she said of Reid. Maddow described it as “unnerving” and “indefensible” for the network’s only two non-white primetime hosts lose their shows. Meanwhile, dozens of producers and staffers are facing layoffs or being invited to reapply for new jobs, she said. “That has never happened at this scale in this way before when it comes to programming changes – presumably because it’s not the right way to treat people,” she said. “This is a difficult time in the news business but it does not need to be this difficult.”
