Donald vs. Wall Street Journal [1]

Anytime someone, something or some entity tells Donald he's wrong, he has to either spend time trying to correct his image or whine about it.
The Wall Street Journal tried to give him an education about how tarrifs work and it fell on deaf ears. What's new?
Trump is still going ahead with 25% tariffs on everthing from Mexico and most imports from Canada. WSJ said it was a big mistake.
Trump doesn't understand the editorial board because they can think, where Trump eschews that process.
"CLINKERS." Since you're talking about the auto industry, it should be "CLUNKERS."
The WSJ said, "If the goal is to harm U.S. auto workers and Republican prospects in Michigan, then by all means go ahead, Mr. President." The WSJ correctly said that all cars assembled in Michigan had parts imported from Mexico and Canada. The editorial cited studies that showed an SUV would cost $9,000 more, and a pickup truck $8,000 more.
"The tariffs will drive massive amounts of manufacturing to MICHIGAN, a state which I easily one..."
Brainfart on "one." You can't just start making all parts in the United States overnight, and if you do the price of the vehicles will cost even more than with the imported parts.
The tarriffs "have already stopped numerous auto plants being built in other countries, a GIGANTIC WIN (already!) FOR MICHIGAN..."
Nope, no reports of that at all. No plant plans have been dropped, except maybe for Tesla in Mexico. The tariff free borders, with cars partially assembled, and new parts added and going back, has been a proven supply chain.
"Just let it happen, and watch, it won't even be close!" You're right. You won't even be close to solving any problems. You're just creating new ones that didn't exist.
"AMERICAN industry will thrive..." not if you keep doing stupid stuff like this. I've said this a dozen times. Duct tape Trump to a chair and explain to him how tariffs work.
In January, WSJ called the Canadian and Mexican proposed tariffs, "The dumbest trade war in history"
When Rupert Murdoch, the owner of the WSJ, was visiting in the Oval Office days later, a reporter asked Trump about the editorial.
"I'm going to have a talk with him. I've been right over the Wall Street Journal times, I will tell you."
Name one.
