Trump tariff comments erase today's Dow Jones recovery [1]

Today, the Dow Jones went up as high as 200 points in an apparent effort to rally after last week’s plummet. But then, at 3:30 p.m., news reports quoted Trump as saying tariffs on Mexico and Canada were going to happen next week. In the thirty minutes that followed, the Dow erased nearly all of the gains it had made, finishing up only 39 points from Friday’s precipitous fall.

The screenshot below shows the Dow on a more or less upward trajectory, going up as high as 200 points (if not more).

Then, CNBC reported Trump’s tariff comments at 3:30 p.m.

After 3:30 p.m., the Dow falls precipitously, closing only 33 points up from Friday.

Trump makes everything go to shit.
