Make Your Own Megaphone, Part 4: What Did You Do Last Week? [1]

Dear [Member of Congress]
Please let me know how you plan to work across the aisle to stop the illegal and unconstitutional takeover of public resources by Trump advisor Elon Musk. Yet another demonstration of his reckless, chaotic, wasteful directives, purportedly based on Presidential orders, occurred last week went he emailed every federal worker and ordered them to report to him personally, further threatening to fire those who fail to comply in a social media post.
The directive and the threat were so potentially harmful to our government that multiple departments and agencies, including Education, Commerce, FDIC, NIH, and DEA and other offices in the Department of Justice, ordered their staff to ignore it outright.
Notably, key departments and offices tasked with ensuring public safety and national security, including the State Department, Homeland Security, and the FBI, also reportedly told their personnel not to comply.
The Department of Defense found the directive so alarming that it chose to alert the public through a social media post, in which the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness was forced to remind DoD personnel – and Mr. Musk – that DoD “is responsible for reviewing the performance of its personnel and it will conduct any review in accordance with its own procedures.”

You can also add a couple of paragraphs specific to your representative. Check their website and subscribe to their newsletter for some ideas. This is what I added to the letter above, specific to my Republican member of the House:
“When you joined the Problem Solvers Caucus in 2023, you said that the group is “united in the idea that there are commonsense solutions to many of the country's toughest challenges.” We face one of those challenges now, as our taxpayer resources are disrupted and wasted by Elon Musk, putting our health, safety, and national security at risk.
“Your latest newsletter also takes note of recent meetings and events you attended. Please let me know if you have already met with other members of the Problem Solvers Caucus, or if you plan to meet with them, to discussed how to stop Mr. Musk.”
