Red State Survival Guide: He Makes some on the Left Angry - Meet Texas Paul Schroder Democrat [1]

Introduction: Living in a Red State
Red state Dems are often ignored and even looked down upon because they don’t align with coastal Dems in strong blue areas. As if we need more circular firing squads in the “big tent” party. I’ll preface my story here; I’m NOT saying red state Dems have every answer or a miracle cure for maga. We do have to live and work with deeply devout maga people day in day out. We have to survive in that ecosystem and through our lived experiences we have insight into how they think and what we are really up against right now.
If you live in deep maga territory you either stay friends with them or you end up very socially isolated, which is hard on anyone for long lengths of time. I cut several people out of my life with Trump 1.0. I am NOT cutting my maga friends off with Trump 2.0, partly because of the lack of durable ally-ship amongst Democrats. Any other red state Dems want to chime in on how they are managing relationships in their deep red communities, please do!

With a few notable exceptions, most Democrats are being caught so flat footed. I think that is in part due to them being in blue bubbles of their districts or having been shielded by a long, long tenure in their congress bubble.
Therefore, to shake things up, add some Texas blues and spice — I present to you Paul Schroder. Someone who can explain much better then I can the on the ground realities Democrats face against what is essentially a “RedState” congress.
Back ground — Texas Paul is a life long Texas Democrat who has been fighting the good fight in very red territory for a very long time. He gets salty but he brings experience, the receipts and every live he gives a detailed history connecting the dots of why, where, when and how. He is not an idealist.
Here is his latest live, go about 6:00 minutes in to get a flavor of what Texas Paul is about.
Trigger Warning; He does not sugar coat anything and uses very direct language, he is laser focused on preserving Democracy and the Democratic Party. I don’t agree with him 100%, but I get where he is coming from. We’re here to protect Democracy, it is the oxygen mask that we must put on first. This means some issues will have to be temporarily set aside in this fight.
This story is intended to support red state democrats and anyone willing to listen to a different strategic view point. I will answer sincere questions and encourage red state dems to chime in with how they cope with living in deep red areas.
