Open Letter to Usha Vance [1]

Dear Second Lady Vance:
When I saw Melania descend that iconic escalator in 2016, I felt compassion for her. Like so many women and feminists, I begged her to “Get out now!” Didn’t she know that she was married to the Liar-in-Chief, that she was trapped? I no longer feel that way.
But I have compassion for you and call to you, “Get out now!” Don’t you know that you are married to the Liar-for-Hire? Do you really think that you and your beautiful “half-caste” kids will survive our new White Supremacist nation that was once the land of the free? When are they coming for you, sweet Usha? When are they going to separate your innocent children from you?
Have you been to the US Holocaust Memorial Museum? There you’d see the plaque dedicated to Paster Martin Niemöller, at first a defender of the Third Reich, who ended up writing this from a concentration camp:
First, they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out — because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out — because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out — because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me — and there was no one left to speak for me.
