… Federal government employees started receiving a letter from OPM similar to this, demanding a reply with "approx. 5 bullets of what you accomplished last week" by Monday noon EST. However, it does not state that “failure to respond will be taken as resignation.”
This also reminds us of how the twitter workforce was decimated by musk and the employees left are those loyal to musk and right-wing ideology.
Russell Vought, the new head of OMB had notoriously said —
We want the bureaucrats to be traumatically affected. When they wake up in the morning, we want them to not want to go to work because they are increasingly viewed as the villains. We want their funding to be shut down so that the EPA can't do all of the rules against our energy industry because they have no bandwidth financially to do so. This is one of the objectives of Project 2025 besides the ones to destroy the federal government and replace the workforce by MAGA loyalists.
We Democrats are behind the eight ball on this as the trump/musk/Project-2025 blitzkrieg rolls on. We need a concerted effort at the Democratic organization level to stop this; simply asking federal workers to fight back, etc. is a losing strategy.
