Shades of Richard Nixon, another Friday night massacre. How to fire the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. First, you order them to do something they would obviously refuse to do. Then, if they still won’t step down you have a pretext for sacking them. And as we all know, shit rolls downhill. Yer either with us or you’re agin us. Think carefully this is your career we’re talking about. I imagine the officer retirement papers are beginning to pour in.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch style the worms begin to turn. A Republican lightweight Congressman from a district which would elect any moron with an “R” beside his name and it was his turn. Held a town hall to an overflow crowd of unexpectedly hostile natives. I used to live down the street from Roswell, Georgia, and it is a nice community of the upwardly middle-class and the cozy comfortable Republicans.
It didn’t help matters that the Congressman either couldn’t read the room or thought he could sway them with the force of his vast rhetorical powers. Either way, that is the LAST REPUBLICAN TOWN HALL you’ll see. You won’t see another one of those for a long, long time.
Farmers for Trump! Corn down $8.00! And if you own Bitcoin AKA, The First Bank of International drug trafficking and money laundering, you lost $2,500 on each one. Just to prove it wasn’t a fluke after losing 1% on the Dow following up the next day with a near 2% loss. The VIX the volatility index looked like tracking the space shuttle into orbit reaching 21%. That’s near pants pissing levels and warns it might not be thunder, but Godzilla over the next ridge.
In Oregon, a Tesla Store was attacked and vandalized. Windows were shattered and guns were fired. A sticker was left on an unbroken window. “Hi, my name is Elon.” Subtle huh? Maybe you should put the Tesla in the garage and take the bus for a while. Better still, sell it if you still can. If I were a Tesla stockholder, I’d sue. The company image is fatally damaged and can’t be repaired due to corporate malfeasance. This is such a small blue marble when you become seriously unpopular.
It's easy to see why the King would use such a fool. “Yeah, you do that Elon! Let em hate you forever!” Like Marlin Perkins on Wild Kingdom, “Now while Elon attaches the rectal probe to the alligator’s scrotum we’ll kick back in the truck with a few cold ones!” Look at me! I’m in charge of something! At this rate Elon is climbing the ladder of success wrong by wrong and becoming an honest to god super villain. His current popularity ranking him somewhere between chlamydia and John Wilkes Booth.
How can the price of roofing tar and duck feathers not skyrocket in this climate? Beware the Ides of March motherfucker. Screw over millions and the boogey man could get you if you don’t watch out! Maybe he’s a waiter or maybe he’s a former scientist who lost his research grant. Maybe that’s the martini you ordered just the way you like it or maybe not. Bottoms up! Ever read Macbeth? Sleep tight!
The temperature is rising out in Dimbulb town. CNN polling shows 39% approve while 53% disapprove of the King/Elon’s actions. And because it is CNN, they took an electric pencil to underline the 39% and then drew a circle around 53%. Just to clarify in case you didn’t fully understand how 53 is greater than 39. Yeah, that’s our side. “Duh what? Maw, come look! You see Maw, because five is the first digit!”
The King has fired his temporary ICE leader. A Steven Miller protégée who wasn’t shipping out the migrants fast enough to suit the King. But this is internal, all about sending a message to the team. By god, I hired you! I’ll fire you just as damn fast! So, if you value your job, you’ll do as you’re told without question.
Honestly, who gets fired less than thirty days into a new job? If Captain Kirk had Scottie working double shifts in the transporter room, would it ever be fast enough? It takes time to build concentration camps, you know. They’re building a dandy big one in Cuba. I’d show you a picture, but I don’t think there are any. Cuba, where the sun shines and prisoners don’t have the right to attorneys.
When Nixon fired Archibald Cox (No relation) it signaled the beginning of the end. Nixon was firing people trying to protect himself while making himself look guilty in the process. Firing the head of the Joint Chiefs looks bad. It shows internal division and turmoil. He was fired for not pleasing the King’s desires. I wonder what those could be? Bomb Vatican City or invade Greenland maybe? Are we moving towards the end or the beginning here?
The King uses strong arm tactics on Ukraine while fulfilling Russia’s wet dream wish list. The King demands Ukraine sign over 550 billion dollars in natural resources. What does Ukraine get? “NOTHING!” That’s for what Ukraine owes us for so far when Congress allocated funds to Ukraine with no strings attached. The King has decided to sell F-35s to India. Which means all technical secrets of the airplane will be immediately available for Russian and Chinese inspection. Chances are it won’t ever happen. Bush the younger promised F-18s to Pakistan, but it never happened. The King lies to everyone, not just us.
I’ve never seen the general public this angry so quickly. Tread lightly and tweak not the public’s nose.
“And the great owners, who must lose their land in an upheaval, the great owners with access to history, with eyes to read history and to know the great fact: when property accumulates in too few hands it is taken away. And that companion fact: when a majority of the people are hungry and cold, they will take by force what they need. And the little screaming fact that sounds through all history: repression works only to strengthen and knit the repressed. The great owners ignored the three cries of history. The land fell into fewer hands, the number of the dispossessed increased, and every effort of the great owners was directed at repression. The money was spent for arms, for gas to protect the great holdings, and spies were sent to catch the murmuring of revolt so that it might be stamped out. The changing economy was ignored, plans for the change ignored; and only means to destroy revolt were considered, while the causes of revolt went on.” ― John Steinbeck
