Is Ukraine preparing for a new push in the Kursk region? This info comes from Russian sources.

Troebortnoye is northwest of the area in Kursk that Ukraine occupies. The Kursk nuclear power plant is way too far to be a realistic objective. More likely the objective would be to cut off Russian troops pressing Ukraine’s forces around Sudzha.

x The Kursk Nuclear Powerplant in Kurchatov is just 2 hours from Troebortnoye, where Ukrainians are staging troops for a counter-invasion into Russia.

10 Ukrainian brigades could potentially attack Russian troops in Kursk from the rear and take control of Kursk NPP.

A Russian oil pumping station was targeted by Ukrainian drones.

x Drones from the Ukrainian Security Service successfully disabled the "Novovelychkovskaya" oil pumping station in Kuban, a critical facility for oil transportation in the region. The drone strike specifically targeted the 110/35/10 kV substation that supplies power to the pumping station.

Meanwhile, Russian armor continues to be used for target practice by Ukrainian drone operators.

x The 71st Jaeger Brigade repelled a massive Russian mechanized attack in the Pokrovsk direction. Several pieces of heavy equipment were destroyed.

I don’t think you are supposed to burn recyclables.

Do not attempt this at home.

Russia just doesn’t give a damn about many of its POWs.

x 🤬 Russia does not want to exchange Ukrainian Azov and Marines prisoners and take back its soldiers from captivity, — Coordination Headquarters ❗️The occupiers are mostly interested in exchanging their conscripts and Chechens, and Russia “doesn’t care” about the rest.

It’s unlikely Russia will give a damn about these guys either.

x 🏳️ Pack of Russian fascists surrendered in the ongoing Battle for Pokrovsk in Ukraine. They followed a Ukrainian drone giving instructions over the loudspeaker.

Getting locked up in the Cold Pit will continue until morale improves.

x Occupied Makiivka. Russian military jail, dubbed the "cold pit" by the occupiers themselves. An imprisoned Russian soldier’s video exposes brutal conditions and the leadership’s total disregard.

Another Highway of Death, this one in Kursk.

x A Russian films a wrecked convoy near Sudzha, Kursk region, taken out by Ukrainian drones, complaining that their EW systems are useless. Ukrainian fiber-optic drones cut right through their jamming. Looks like another batch of "unmatched" technology just went up in smoke.

The “bearded bastards” have apparently fled the Kursk meat grinder.

x Ukrainian intelligence intercepted a conversation among Russian soldiers, where one soldier criticizes the "Kadyrovites," blaming them for abandoning Kursk: "They're just a bunch of bearded bastards! They ran away, damn it!" Only a few remained, he says.

It is amazing that there are still some people under the delusion that they can work with Trump.

“Regardless of the circumstances, we are not in a position to quarrel with Trump. We need to be wiser,” said Oleksandr Merezhko, chairman of the Ukrainian parliamentary committee on foreign policy. “We need to earn Trump’s trust and respect, and this is extremely difficult now, but not impossible.”

x 🧐🇺🇸🇺🇦 To save his country, Zelensky hopes to salvage his relationship with Trump after it blew up very publicly this week, - WP

[image or embed] — MAKS 24 👀🇺🇦 (@maks23.bsky.social) February 22, 2025 at 7:16 AM

This pretty much sums up Europe’s reaction to Trump.

Verraten means “betrayed” in German.

I hope the president of Poland doesn’t actually believe this garbage.

x 🇵🇱🇺🇦 Duda: I suggested to Zelensky to remain committed to the course of calm and constructive cooperation with Trump. I trust that good will and honesty form the foundation of the U.S. negotiation strategy. I have no doubt that Trump is guided by a deep sense of responsibility for global stability.

[image or embed] — The Ukrainian Review (@theukrainianreview.bsky.social) February 21, 2025 at 2:46 PM

I disagree with the folks who counsel Zelensky to avoid antagonizing Trump.

I don’t think it’ll make any difference.

x Make no mistake, the talks about "Zelensky not being nice to Trump" coming from US officials are a farce. Unfortunately, the Russians have presented the US with a list of demands outlining how they envision Ukraine's future. While I can't publish the list, I can say a few things: — Tatarigami (@tatarigami.bsky.social) February 20, 2025 at 1:58 PM

it closely resembles the early versions of the Istanbul agreement, and it's likely to leak soon. When the US started to follow some of the points from these demands, I have serious doubts that if Zelensky bows to Trump, it will make any difference. As long as financial support from the EU continues, statements about a six-month collapse are nothing more than doomsday speculation based on a lack of understanding of battlefield dynamics. Would the loss of U.S. aid make the situation more difficult for Ukrainian forces? Yes. Would it lead to total collapse in six months? No. It would mean more Ukrainian soldiers and civilians killed, especially as air defense stocks deplete, but on the battlefield, there would be no sudden collapse, thus such claims are irresponsible.

Starmer wasn’t even PM when the invasion started.

x 🇺🇸⚡️🇫🇷🇬🇧 Trump criticized Macron and Starmer for failing to support Ukraine and not spending enough at the start of the invasion, Politico reports. "Europe is basically giving nothing, while the U.S. is spending its money on some country that is very, very far away." www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

There should be no doubt that this whole minerals deal mess is nothing more than extortion.

x The U.S. is discussing the possibility of cutting Ukraine’s access to Starlink if Kyiv refuses a mineral deal – Reuters writes. Meanwhile, WSJ reports that Zelensky may sign the agreement today. www.wsj.com/world/white-...

x ❗️US deal: Ukraine insists on reducing fund from $500 billion to $100 billion, Radio NV sources say. Kellogg returns to US with Ukrainian proposal on minerals deal. Kyiv also conveyed wishes for Zelensky and Trump to meet in person next week in Washington to discuss possible terms of deal.

If Ukraine’s Starlink service is cut, the EU should sanction Musk.

In addition to the fact that it would be a war crime and an environmental disaster, the problem with spreading Cobalt-60 all over Moscow is that Moscow could respond in kind.

Another 1,140 Russians and 15 tanks.

I guess the strategy of standing perfectly still so the drone won’t see you wasn’t working.

x It appears that physical nets for drone protection are not proving effective. Consequently, the Russians have opted to use smoke screens deployed by ground drones in the hope of shielding the remnants of their equipment.

[image or embed] — WarTranslated (Dmitri) (@wartranslated.bsky.social) February 22, 2025 at 8:33 AM

The war has been good business for the American defense industry.

x While the United States spent less than $100 billion in military, economic, and humanitarian support for Ukraine over 3 years, US arms sales across the globe have skyrocketed directly as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, an increase of $300 billion just in 2023/2024.

[image or embed] — Igor Sushko (@igorsushko.bsky.social) February 22, 2025 at 5:43 AM

And France is considering more than doubling its defense spending to 5%.

x French President Emmanuel Macron: "Russia has produced a considerable war effort, with the result that Russia today invests 10% of its gross domestic product in arms production. In France, it's 2%. And we've almost doubled our budget since I've been here.

More political mine fields holding up the next European aid package.

x France & Italy are slowing down a €20B aid package for Ukraine, citing budget constraints & diplomatic concerns. The package includes 1.5M rounds, air defense support & troop training, but faces resistance from Hungary, Slovakia & now key EU players. www.spiegel.de/politik/deut...

Yes, but once the colonial army under General Washington seized the airports from the British, it was a done deal.

x Found this floating around. A Ukrainian draws the parallels to current US stance with that of French support to the colonies in 1770s.

That’s where his Borg implants were installed.

x With all the recent news, discussing some sort of "scar" on Putin's head might actually be somewhat relaxing and entertaining. The scar was reportedly noticed on photos and videos starting on February 19. On February 17 and 18, Putin was filmed from another angle.

[image or embed] — Anton Gerashchenko (@antongerashchenko.bsky.social) February 22, 2025 at 10:56 AM

You can live without potatoes or onions.

It certainly takes a toll.

x Not my usual topic, but is anyone studying the psychological affects of having thousands of air raids? In WW2 a single raid alert lasted hours. Now it’s a separate raid for almost every missile, constant alerts and updates. It must be taking a different toll on people?

x Came home from work. Sitting in the kitchen, having dinner—eating varenyky. Look up—explosions in the sky, air defense taking down another swarm of drones sent by Russia, the terrorist state with a dictator for a president. Take another bite. Varenyky still hot.

Drones still falling. Life goes on. — Maria Drutska (@mariadrutska.bsky.social) February 20, 2025 at 2:24 PM

Ukrainians keep up spirits with music.

x POV: you’re in the very heart of Kyiv, Ukraine, listening to famous Ukrainian bandura, feeling goosebumps ✨💙💛

x Morning from Kyiv! I want to start this Saturday with

a song ‘’How cannot I love you, Kyiv of mine?’

A familiar to you gentleman plays it.

The video is from the last Sunday,

but it suits my mood perfectly.

This is from Western Ukraine.

x The Alley of Glory in my hometown. The song in the video says:

The Ukrainian sun has risen,

Let it shine brightly.

The price is paid high.

We will never forgive.

Might have to try this.

x "Obviously, cake won’t fix any of it, but perhaps a taste of what is special to many Ukrainians will strengthen our connection with them." Try @marissarothkopf.bsky.social's delicate, yet savory Ukrainian honey cake w/ poppyseeds. Have a family recipe for poppy seed cake? Share it in the comments!

Smart donkey.

x Donkeys in the service of the Russian army. Video filmed by a Ukrainian drone operator shows a Russian infantryman straggling to move a new type of Russian frontline transport equipment.
