Musk Latest Move To Terrorize Federal Workers: List 5 Things You Did Last Week Or Else. [1]

I cannot confirm this news from The Bulwark, at least not yet, but it appears that Musk took to X to demand that ALL federal employees respond to an email from OPM that DEMANDS we list five things that we did last week. On X, Musk says FAILURE TO COMPLY BY 11:59 P.M. ON MONDAY MEANS YOU ARE RESIGNING! According to Sam Stein, some federal employees have received an email from OPM demanding that they list five things they did last week. However, there was no, “If you don’t respond, you have resigned” BS. I went on my government laptop to check my email, and there is nothing so far from OPM. In fact, there are no emails this Saturday at all for Census Bureau workers.

When or if I get this email, I know for a fact that my supervisor will not be able to advise me. I’ve asked her before about the shit that has been happening since Trump took office, and according to her, she has received no guidance from higher ups at the Census Bureau. Sadly, this doesn’t really surprise me because the Census Bureau is not exactly forthcoming in providing the rest of us plebeians with information under the best of times. Since the Republicans took over the House in 2023, lack of news information got worse. Now with all the shit being thrown by Musk’s flying monkeys at DOGE, it’s a complete news blackout.

All I get is email terrorism from OPM, when it finally gets to the Census Bureaus servers that is.

And my union only sends out emails. I have been unable to get a live human being to answer my questions. I wish someone from the local would take the time to talk to me, but I suppose they have their hands full going to the courts.

And yes, Sam Stein is correct that this is monumentally stupid. This stunt does nothing for efficiency. What are they going to do? Read 2.3 million emails? I don’t think ketamine Musk is going to bother reading one email let alone 2.3 million of them.

I am working Monday, so I will just have to wait and see what comes my way. If I got some advice from my supervisor or union to not respond, I’d be happy to follow their directions. But I’m going to have my ass hanging out in the wind, so I will throw some shit together and comply. I can’t afford to lose my job and be some kind of worker “hero.”

I did that in the past, and I always lost, which meant that I got fired or was forced to resign.

I hope that some of you here on Daily Kos will understand why I enjoy FAFO diaries. When you are undergoing a campaign of financial terror, it breeds a lot of anger and rage. Besides evil men like Musk and Trump enjoying their sadism, I am especially angry at all the MAGA idiots who want to see people like me suffer.
